I like licids, too... but I always felt it odd how they carried so many creature removal shields with them, if you had the mana. I know, whenever asked to draft Tempest block (admittedly rare), I always rate the licids very high. I don't really care what their abilities are. I get the impression that if they were designed by modern designers the words 'sorcery speed' would have appeared on the card. Probably twice. That's a lot of words, though...
By the way... I like the remora flavor.
Even though the Licids were instant speed, jmg is right that between NWO and modern development, this is basically required to be a sorcery speed ability.
