canon art!
I did make this card during a discussion elsewhere about the blue getting extra combats change. Wotc is intentionally leaning into aesthetic bends for hybrid now, such as blue/red getting menace. I think it's at least in the area for discussion here
You're right this shouldn't be an instant, but that's how it came to me
I love the name of your version
Good catch on rounding. The silver bordered subgame cards all set your starting life total to an odd number (1 or 5)
rounding
Because creatures cast this turn would get to attack during an extra turn. I get it, but I feel that's past blue even with the currently discussed idea of expanding where extra combat steps go into the color.
Even during Planar Chaos blue has been the "haste, but only if it's not for attacking"-color, so that clearly makes this stinky.
I'd love a card like... Seize the Fray.
Maybe I'm missing something about this being an instant, but that feels like unnecessarily risky for confusing interactions.
Definitely a mythic rare design. Props for that.
Was surprised to find Exquisite Archangel already exists.
Usually you expect even numbers for starting life total, but who knows what might come... maybe they'll bring back vanguards or make a conspiracy that changes your starting life total...
Either way: the effect should specify how to round the halved number - even if the default is already rounding up. EDIT: See The Endstone.
See Find a Lead.
Seed from an ask on maro's blog. Hard to balance, since casting with a cost reduction is already a bonus
Your version seems cleaner. In most cases it's the same; murdering the enchanted creature will proc the first aura's umbra armor, which will then proc this one's umbra armor instead. The only edge case is if someone wanted to disenchant the aura this is attached to
Yeah, I was trying to channel hedron alignment. This level of shenanigans should get a better payoff though
Makes sense in concept, though the umbra armor on the Aura enchanting the Aura seems like it would be circumvented by the enchanted Aura simply destroying itself by its own umbra armor...
Does just enchanting the enchanted permanent seem not better? See Umbra Armory.
That's five parts. Is it intentionally hard to do this considering the four-of rule?
See Mechtitan Ultra. I got a little lost in the sauce
