Huh. That's a hit on the flavour and mostly very nasty.
Not 100% sure it doesn't accidentally bomb "discard that one" "Sure, discarding at random" though?
It does, unfortunately. Turns targeted discard into "look at their hand, then they discard at random." I think it's worth it to upgrade your untargeted discard, though
I personally would prefer if it was less "turn stuff into Hymn to Tourach" and more "combine with Hymn to Tourach" e. g.
They don't print random discard very much anymore. Most discard effects are either "you pick" already, or let the opponent pick
Yeah, gotta agree with dude. Random discard is fine at Mythic. If they printed Hymn to Tourach nowadays, even if they added a colorless to the card, I'd argue to make the card Mythic.
That said, it (mildly) bothers me that Tourach's second ability isn't discarding at random. Seems like one of those traps that's bound to cause some players to use it the wrong way, then have to call the judge after three triggers.
