So, a little uninspiring - may think of better abilities later. Inspired by the Link to the Past Master Sword.
Looked at doing this as Level up but would have been rather wordy!
Goes really well with Capricious Efreet. Which seems reasonable.
Here's an example that didn't want to be an artifact :) I considered making it an aura and playing up the On Fire effect more, but decided it just made it complicated. As it is, this is mostly a bit worse than Scar but can interact with cards that care about damage. But will probably be played, because it's direct damage :)
Heh. Did somebody mention ReedRichardsIsUseless?
BTW, image is dead for me.
Oh, that's great. A really simple effect that I'd never even considered. You're right, it'd be hard to get it printed, since it would only really make sense in a set with lots of random effects, but it would be absolutely perfect for making a lot of Johnny decks :)
And I like the flavour text too :)
Yes, sonic screwdriver definitely counts :)
ROFL. Awesome idea.
Yeah, wraiths and shades should be in, and probably Skeletons.
The reason for demons is that although they aren't undead they are commonly raised by necromantic magic and commonly exorcised and otherwise affected by holy stuff, so I guessed many of the undead-affecting cards would want to affect them. I agree "undead" may not be the perfect term (and it may be better to go with the simple option).
I agree it's weird to distinguish between devils and demons, but in magic demons seem more often spirit-of-evil-y and devils more often seem physical?
That has a wonderful ring of a genuine folk saying that doesn't make any damn sense unless you've grown up with it. And, yeah, that works really well with a bunch of effects. I like it.
Ooh. I like the Level Up enchantment idea... though this is a strange card for a fire tower. Feels more like a flame thrower tower... possibly from a tower defense game.
For Challenge # 028.
Would this be easier to parse if it said "Put a token onto the battlefield under the defending player's control that's a copy of that creature?"
I should add a clause about the legend rule not applying to the tokens this makes. Oh... and it should only trigger on non-token creatures.
Redundant words. Oops.
Demons aren't undead...
Haha. Oops.
Added Picture.

Added Jedi's Lightsaber, Philosopher's Stone and Lucky Charm. Well, someone's got to pick up the common items left around by Jack, eh? To make up for the archetypes I took, I'll add 5 more:
For Challenge # 028. Another card which I wasn't sure what rarity to give it. Lucky Charms are often common items, but they're made special by some property, so they can't be common. The card itself is generally usable, but that's a rather specialized ability, unless your set has a card for each color at common that chooses a creature at random (and the effect is detrimental to the creature). Ah well.
For Challenge # 028. This card makes an assumption leap that you know Magic mechanics well enough that you may not recognize this as completely wrong. I mean, if I could turn base metals into gold, and I was a Planeswalker, I probably wouldn't use that ability to get more mana. I'd probably just buy out a small nation and chill. This makes me think that perhaps there are too many lazy Planeswalkers. They could be captains of industry, shipping various cartels of needed supplies through the blind eternities. Instead, they act like a bunch of spoiled yuppies, only caring about their own needs until they find that it was all too easy to fulfill them, and now they spend their afternoons crashing, or carousing the planes.
But, yes, if you don't think about it too hard, this makes permanents (and maybe the occasional stolen creature) gold. Don't think too hard, or the card blows up.
