For Challenge # 028
I wasn't sure how to balance the card cost and activation cost.
I wanted the flavour of "agh, a ghost" that usually just goes away, but not always. It's possible this should be more expensive and not need a life payment, but then it can be an infinite stall. I'm not sure how it'd actually play.
Edit: Unfortunately, this also technically suffers from the ridiculous rules problem described on Flash Foliage.
Oh, excellent idea. I liked the idea of a magic paintbrush but had no idea how to do it, but the sunburst ability is a great one.
I won't worry about the templating, but is the intention that the tokens could attack or block, or only block?
Changed MS name so others can make different iterations if so desired!
Created Magic Paintbrush. Other ideas:
Created for Challenge # 028, based on L2i0n0k7's idea of the magic paintbrush from assorted works of fiction that brings its paintings to life.
I went for the Emblazoned Golem template because I thought it was flavourful, and because it felt wrong to let people make an 8/8 with this. But perhaps it doesn't need the restriction on X.
Gave Golden Sword an Equip cost
Made it more interesting, also equipment
Ha! I find it funny that the best way to implement this is in a 'horse tribal' deck. Of course, if you did that, The horses would all start riding horses.
LOL.
For Challenge # 028
This assumes that the banding rules have been revamped so they don't suck :) (A recent change definitely simplified them somewhat, I believe.)
I wasn't sure about the phrasing. The point is that this creature can use the evasion abilities of the horse.
I wondered whether there should be a saddle in the equation somewhere, but I decided the stirrup was what made horses really useful in combat.
Flavourwise I stuck with "horse", although there are really really few interesting horses. At worst you can use it with Avian Changeling :)
Raar! Take that friends of Grizzly Bears!
You know, I wouldn't be surprised if, in the future, Level Up returned (because it is popular), but the card ultimated by flipping over (because double-faced cards are so useful).
Haha! He certainly is...
I'm not sure what the second comment is in reference to. Can you not see the image, or did I accidently grab the Philosopher's Stone from Harry Potter? I have no idea. I never saw that movie.
For Challenge # 028. Inspired by jmg's Jedi's Lightsaber -- I thought your analasys of a lightsaber card was great, but realised I would have implemented it differently.
I considered trying to encapsulate the "parry and reflect the beam back" idea, but decided that was too complicated and should be delegated to a damage-redirecting instant, "Jedi's parry", or similar.
I forgot to link to the ones I made.
Exorcist's Bell
Excalibur
Fire arrow
Ranna, the Sleeper
Second-hand Lightsaber
Stirrup
For Challenge # 028.
Heh. Similar idea to Sword in the Stone. I think the flavour would work fine if it was just "target legendary creature": if this particular world's saviour is a Cat or a Fox, I think it could still wield Excalibur.
In Magic devils and demons are very different things. Demons are spirits of evil or dark power, while devils are more like imps. You might have one demon be lord over a thousand devils.
Last ability should probably say "to another creature equal to or in excess of that creature's toughness", unless it's meant to slaughter all utility creatures the moment it fights a Grizzly Bear.
Here's a stab at the Master Sword: Master Sword (LttP).
