Fun challenge. I made Shrapnel Flinger.
For Challenge # 044.
Hm. How about "the difference in ages"?
"Deal damage equal to half your age" on the upgraded version? Only an instant win if you're over 40.
I tried to make some tribal cards, but they ended up non-suitable for the challenge, so they're in cards with no home ( MetaSliver and Pigeon Feeder).
Oh yeah, tribal is a really good vein for Timmy. Although I think we need more "All goblins get +1/+1 and are awesome" cards rather than ones which make Tammy go "Huh?"
Ha! Well, if we're talking tribal: Wirewood Dragoncaller
Heh. That reminds me... Wirewood Dragoncaller :)
Created for Challenge # 044. Inspired by a card created by my random Magic card generator, which was nicknamed "Kudos to the Bi-tribal Timmy" and read:
> Pay 3 life : two target Beasts get +X/+X, where X is the number of Dragons in play
It was jmg's creation Constant Gardener that reminded me of that generated card.
This is very much in the Timmy category "unlikely to pay off, but AWESOME when it does". Of course, Johnny thinks of following it with Woodland Changeling then Mirror Entity...
@Link: I don't think so. I do think time counts as an extra cost, but I think there have been several submissions for this challenge with no "hidden cost" that are definitely Timmy, such as Untame Lightning, Rage Stoker, and most especially Blessing of Life.
That's a cunning solution that could work. At least until there's a repeatable fateseal effect easier that Mesmeric Sliver + Sliversmith.
Hmm. Eenteresting. Reminiscent of Unstable Shapeshifter or Renegade Doppelganger, but only getting P/T probably does mean the cost can be lower. Nice design.
It is most definitely Johnny. Might it be Timmy as well, though? I can't tell.
There wasn't enough tribal going on for my tastes, so I dropped a Constant Gardener on the battlefield.
Challenge # 044. I'm just happy that I have an excuse to get the creature type Druid on a card that has nothing to do with lands.
Well, it's hard, I admit. I'm pretty sure it's possible. For example, if this card instead said "...damage to a player, double all counters on the equipped creature.", it would probably be even more Timmy, and would probably be fine with an equip cost of
, or maybe a cost of
and an equip of
.
I mean, Timmy likes to do a lot of 'useless' things. A Feldon's Cane-style commando equipment would be another good example of a card that Timmy could get for
and
...
★A Winner is You!★
Heh. How about "Whenever the top card of a library is revealed, sacrifice ~."?
As worded, I think you might be able to chain this between two targets. Creatures won't go to the graveyard until the spell resolves, and it only asks for a new target... it doesn't ask for a target that has not been targeted by this spell...
Minor templating kerfuffle, though. I like the spell. Never confuse my pickiness for disdain.
Man, I had a Zur Commander deck before Spike started ruining the Zur Commander decks. Rewards of Diversity is insane in Multiplayer Commander decks. People are less likely to attack you if had that out than Propaganda... It just isn't worth beating on the guy with 100 life...
I was wondering when Auras would show up, and I find it funny that they popped up like this. Timmy loves auras, but 1cc auras can be a bit of a drag, since you kinda want a 2cc to fall on a 1cc creature... that, and you can't get hidden costs in this challenge, so no Shimmering Wings tricks.
Sentinel Beast
By the way, this is kind of awkward for me because my first name in real life is Timothy, and most of my friends call me Timmy.
Created for Challenge # 044. The idea is for this to be a creature that continuously grows larger while discouraging opponents from attacking. I'm not sure how powerful this is.
You can't easily create an equipment that only costs
and has no equip cost, and have it be Timmy.
I think this breaks the extra cost rule of the challenge.
