Timmy's philosophy: powerful is good, but MORE of powerful is even better. A very niche version of Fork at 1 mana cheaper. Good, but probably not broken, while very satisfying for Timmy that just wants to have as many Warp Worlds happen in one game as possible.
For Challenge # 044, the black counterpart to Untame Lightning. I think the drawback may scare Timmy away a little, but I had trouble balancing it properly since I think it's a bit too good in a control deck without there being a small drawback to it.
Made for Challenge # 044. I think it's a great Timmy card, because he'll take one look at it and say, "1 mana for a 10/10??? NO WAY!!" without worrying about the downside. I can also see him anxiously counting the turns down till the craziness begins. I'm not sure what the right toughness should be - probably no more than 0/2 or 0/3.
Cymerdown stumbled upon one of the outs, so I couldn't help but add Cursed Lightning to the list. I can think of two more approaches that open up large fields to work with. I know Timmy loves his fatties, but there's more to Timmy than "Hulk Smash!"
For Challenge # 044. Since Cymerdown stumbled upon one of the answers to this challenge (Do things most randomly. Timmy loves it when the game does something he can't predict.), I figured I'd toss this card that was stuck in my head out. If I know Timmy, I know he'll love slapping this on the table in a group game when one of the players is at four or less. It probably won't kill them... but you can imagine if it did...
I love the fact that the natural Timmy response to this would be "Could you imagine if I got four of these in my opening hand? Instant Akroma!"
For Challenge # 044. I think it's a cheap effect that Timmy might enjoy - in a crowded board, it will be fun for him to roll the dice and see which guy gets burnt to a crisp (significantly more fun if his opponent has more guys out than he does). In terms of Spike applications, it's basically a Flame Slash that's slightly more powerful but more narrow. It's a cheap red spell that can get around Hexproof, which is interesting, and decent removal in creatureless control decks (however the 1 damage to yourself may put it behind Flame Slash in some matchups).
For Challenge # 044. I'm not sure I've got the numbers exactly right here, but the idea is to have a 1-mana Impulse, but it only hits on expensive cards. This way, the card isn't actually very good since competitive decks won't be able run enough expensive cards for this to hit very often since the curve would be too wacky, but would fit perfectly in the kinds of decks that Timmy loves to make.
Made Crystal Lotus, Ambitious Plans, Untame Lightning, Young Treefolk, Reaper's Call, Echoes of Power, and Mercenary Troops.
For Challenge # 044, kind of going from Link's idea. It's hard to make Timmy cards this cheap without using them to power out Timmy's usual love: big, expensive cards. In terms of power level, I think it would be strong but not overly so, considering that it's a significantly powered up Lotus Petal but much, much more narrow.
Hahaha. Well, this is an excellent choice none the less. Timmy is setting himself up for crazy things. It's a solid first step, and shows people one path they can take. Pull a Kurgadon.
Hee hee. It's too easy to 'fake' a Timmy spell with a casting cost of 1. I'm just keeping us legit.
I made Caller of Greatness.
For Challenge # 044.
Everything I come up with has a "hidden cost." Darn you, jmgariepy.
