For Challenge # 060. I was looking for something similar to Raging River and it took me a few passes to come across this. It's kind of nice that the keyword 'defender' exists so I didn't need to make up a word to explain creatures that hang out on the ridge pass.
Geez, Polymorph has so many legs. Why doesn't someone just make 'The Polymorph Block' and get it over with?
I was trying to blend cards likeAnimate Dead and Resurrection with a bit of randomness, hence it being
Honestly, I'm fine with it as is. It's got great flavor. It's just a bit strange.
I could cost it at

Oh. I definitely read that too fast. Go you for thinking of that.
Nope. It says "printed power."
Weird! This is interesting in that it greatly increases the chances that its own condition will be fulfilled.
Oh, this is very interesting. It's a twist on things like Unburial Rites. I like it, I think, though it does feel like a stretch for the color pie because it seems so much like Polymorph.
For Challenge # 060
Originally for my my Arboretia set, this is even the exact piece of art I had chosen for that card - what are the odds?
for Challenge # 060
Suggestion for a proper "Randomly polymorph that into something else!" - take its replacement from the top of target opponent's deck.
Still not quite as random as I'd like. Online mtg, I'd suggest doing a proper "Ok, a random creature of CMC X" but hat's hard to do offline.
Heh. I saw your Vigean Channeler before this comment. I do like the XU version of Polymorph. It would be a neat spell. Maybe targets your own stuff at instant speed for a sense of balance...
How would it be at whatever your goal is, if you cost this at
, limit it to "you control" so it doesn't become a
kill spell for your opponent's stuff, and have it stop on a non-Human that costs X or less? That also gives it more of a Momir Magic feel (see also my Vigean Channeler.)
Hm. I know what jmg means, whether it's Timmy or not, the idea of polymorphing a creature actually at random and getting something cool.
I think either way can be Timmy. When I made my first animated-enchantments + polymorph + eldrazi deck, I was excited by flipping the eldrazi, I didn't take much care over arranging it. That's definitely Timmy/Johnny. But just flipping anything and trusting it to be awesome is also Timmy in a different way.
Added Centauri Rouser.
For Challenge # 060. Originally, I had the idea in my head that this guy knew a secret path and was rushing right for it... you know... because he's charging at you, but not really... he's going down and to the left. I'm not sure why I jumped past "Your creatures get forestwalk" and went straight to "Ah, screw it. Let's all just attack this player" but I think it's kind of funny. I didn't even have to break the rules by having people attack during other players turns, which I kind of thought I had to do at first. My only regret is that I couldn't use the term "Join Forces"... cause I think I'd need to include the words "pay any amount of mana" to link it up with those cards.
