Hm. Yes, it's very nice, but is better than something like Phantom Warrior which is just "unblockable"? This brings unblockable into black, but needs an activation cost, and effectively has one toughness to pinging.
Oh, that's wonderful.
That seems a hugely strong ability. Assuming you have as much (B) available as your opponent's highest power, it can't die when attacking; assuming you have as much (B) as your opponent's highest toughness, it's effectively unblockable.
Done and done, though, it's better than Wind Drake now. Devil in details and whatnot. I don't think the 5cc 3/3 would look so strange if the set had, like 15 thoughtwisps in it. It just didn't make for a good marquee card, agreed.
That's a sensible take on the Thoughtwisp ability.
This thing's activated ability feels almost wasted on a 3/3 with thoughtwisp. As in, it'd be perfectly usable on a 3/3 creature without thoughtwisp. I think this would be more interesting if you knock 2 off the power, toughness and mana cost.
Delightful!
Added Splendid Grotesque and Shimmering Glory, based on Alex's card ((C4603)). Unfortunately, Thoughtwisp provided me plenty enough fodder to work with, so I didn't get my hands very dirty on the "What would this world look like" question. I like the cards, anyway.
For Challenge # 062, based on Alex's card ((C4603)). I really wanted to prove that black wasn't the only creature that could get in on this game, so I came up with this beast. Originally, I was making a green creature, but Alex made Thoughtwisp an illusion, and I figured I should keep illusions out of green... white works fine with this ability anyway.
Also, if I was making this set for realsies, slot CR01 would immediately be dedicated to Shower of Sparks. I'd love to see that card be first pickable in a set.
For Challenge # 062 and based off of Alex's enigma of a card ((C4603)). I turned Thoughtwisp into an ability, and brainstormed ways that it could be beneficial. This one popped in my head. The more I brainstorm, oddly, the more thoughtwisp wants to be black, oddly.
I also did what I could to clean up the wording on the card. Instead of wondering if a creature with 0 toughness could be killed when taking damage, now there's a replacement effect, killing the creature when it would take damage.
Leonin Retainer and Cleansing Retribution, Created to interact with Abstemious Monk, They are not in the same set at the moment but my intention is to have them exsist in the same block.
Actually, I'd rather like to see a set full of ETB equipment. There hasn't been many Fists of Ironwood style equipment cards out there. A whole set could shore up that gap.
I do like how these three cards suggest a deck archtype, but aren't so bold as to say "You must play these cards together". I'm not sure what the world here is like, but the idea of white going super-weenie control is kind of neat.
Oh, certainly. I was aware that both the cards I was making were uncommon, and not sure what the proposed set would do at common.
Yeah, we can possibly take ETB equipment too far, but I like the design (and flavour!) of this.

It's easy for white and blue to care about artifacts blinking, but what can the other colours do about it? Well, Disciple of the Vault was a mainstay of artifact decks back in the day. Let's try a cross between him and Thief of Hope, or perhaps Suture Priest.
