I gave it a shot. Theros
Tried Phyrexia
Oh, somehow I misread that as creatures >_>;;;;
See Challenge # 120.
I guess conceiving of a land that represents a whole plane is difficult, especially since even plane cards represent only a small portion of the plane.
None of those are lands...
Can I submit Child of Alara? Progenitus? What about Genju of the Realm?
See Challenge # 119. I know plane cards exist, but it would be interesting to see a whole plane represented within the limits of a single land card.
See Challenge # 119. This is a top-down design related to the one piece of faerie folklore I remember. I'm not even sure if this is red. This faerie doesn't have flying because I believe the story was recorded before the modern depiction of faeries. Maybe this will be white. Anyway, I read a story about a youth who walked into a church, and then she saw her cousin or someone, was relieved, but then remember that the relative was dead. The relative was like "yo, you gotta get out of here."
I think a telling of this story occurred in one of the Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark collections, though it didn't mention the dead as faeries.
Hee! I like it. The opponent will probably still draw the card, but this will smack them hard for it. Fun take on Skyknight Legionnaire.
And Wistful Dancers, finally one without flying.
See Challenge # 119.
I like this. I think I would word the ability "Target creature blocks this turn if able. That creature can't block target attacking creature this turn."
And Taunting Sprite
See Challenge # 119.
Provoke hasn't been red, but always seemed to be going for a "fight" flavour. The "can't block" interpretation feels natural in red...?
Makes sense to me. And useful.
Yeah, the "to library" effect is interesting, but mostly a drawback; it would be interesting on a larger creature maybe. I like the "to hand" version, tweaking cost if necessary. It feels trisky faerie to me, darting in to attack and then fading away.
Magpie Child, using red exile-cast-this-turn card draw.
See Challenge # 119.
Another variant on tricksy faerie, this time, a one-off bonus card, maybe from an opponent, but withtout the frequent "spend any colour to cast" etc. Not sure if this is ok to print, or the rarity.
Yep, I think this is spot on. Angel of Mercy shows angels certainly can do this too, but not at 2 mana, so I think you're right this is a niche that's not very easy to fill at the moment. Good job.
Fascinating.
I think this is very bad now. It's like dash (Mardu Scout), but you're losing a draw step every time you cast it.
I think probably the way you had it before was better. A creature that you can only cast via dash is fine (Viashino Sandscout, Viashino Sandstalker, Viashino Cutthroat, Archwing Dragon).
I don't really get a "trickster" vibe from this either.
Hand --> library
I like the forced rifling as a faerie ability. Seeing a small flyer in red is weird, though.
I suppose you're right. I do wish this could stay at
, but even with the clause I now realize it's better than Mana Leak.
It feels like a lot to me, but it is reminiscent of Lone Missionary.
Added may.
Tricksy Faerie, red small faerie with discard-draw, and Benevolent Faerie small flier with lifegain.
See Challenge # 119.
Nice simple small flier with life gain bonus feels like fairie rather than bird or angel. I was surprised I couldn't find more cards like this already.
Is the life gain the right amount to feel useful but not oppressive?
