Fixed. Weird, it says "elephant" in my original file. I probably thought it would be an elephant before I realized I was reprinting an existing card.
Okay, not sure how that happened. xD
With that in mind, it should probably have said "At the beginning of YOUR end step,". Thanks for pointing it out.
Bwahahaha :)
You know, I always thought it was weird making all the boars become beasts in their creature line. This creature does a fair job of circumnavigating the problem by turning the warthog into an elephant.
Was sure I'd commented on this somewhere - but this is a really really sneaky way to hose a red opponent. Play this, end turn - oops, all your creatures died.
I definitely didn't have "brassiere" in mind. xD From what people have told me, it sounds rather Portuguese.
Perhaps it's no big deal, but her name sounds rather like "brassiere."
Yeah, that's a different card :P
Heh. It's a black-and-white knight. Must resist the urge to suggest adding "~ is red (all over)."
I'm inclined to leave this spam comment here, because it's amusing. I agree: Forteplaza's veterans deserve to have their story told.
It's about time seomone wrote about this.
And use another keyword. Yes, I see your point. :P
It's a bit odd to include a keyword in the name and not use that keyword.
Good templating. I'm not totally sure if it's clear for everyone, but not a lot of Magic is anyway.
Equipped creature gets +2/+2 and has "Creatures you control have trample."
logically
I don't think of it as giving green overpowered creatures because it has something wrong inherently. As I said, Zendikar had very strong green cards, and they didn't really have to invent green removal or anything (which can be considered something green needs). I do think, though, that green has got to have the biggest -not best- creatures for their cost. Which is pretty much the current situation.
It is a Faerie Shaman because it's part of the five established races of the set, nothing special.
All-in-Green has been very good in the past. I don't like the argument that "This color isn't strong enough mono-colored, therefore we can make spectacularly powerful mono-colored cards to make up for it". But, I can appreciate the fact that one or two powerful mono-color cards can go a long way to support a color that is currently lacking in power. If your card pool leads people to think that Green makes a good splash color, but you need answers from other colors to make a good deck, a card like this will do wonders to make them reconsider.
Any specific reason why you decided that the powerhouse mono-green card of your set would be a Faerie Shaman?
This card is just okay. Green would need a lot of support to be good just by itself. Phyrexian mana, Beast Within, infect, for example.
Take into account that red and white had very good removal. Also, green is very strong in Zendikar. It's just that those decks don't want Primal Bellow, Timbermaw Larva and Leatherback Baloth when they can just ramp and finish with either Avenger of Zendikar, any titan, any Eldrazi, etc.
I've been trying to figure out if this creature, without the reach or flying, is better than Leatherback Baloth, but I can see arguments for either of them. Either way, it would be rare to see a player put either card in a non-mono green deck.
I'd say "Gee, this thing is too powerful then, what with the Reach and Vigilance and all", but it's not like the Boloth hit many standard decks. Maybe he just has bad timing... if there was a mono-green deck, he would probably jump right in. I do find it odd that a multi-color card like Wooly Thoctar made a large dent in Standard, but the Baloth doesn't seem to pull his weight.
A lot of casual players would be scared to attack if they had a card in their hand. On the other hand, though, that could teach them that card advantage is indeed important, and that odds aren't always against them, but maybe they would simply not attack.
Also, I don't like when obligatory abilities are missed and you have to go back (especially if it's about discarding and drawing, which changes everything a lot).
I hadn't thought about being sneaky in multiplayer. It would probably be fun. Also, you'd suddenly become each other opponent's target.
As noted in the main page post, this set has too many overpowered cards. But, I think three mana is still enough in a color that can't produce creatures as easily as green.
Daily Regimen costs only one.
Yeah, I'm kinda sad that the black part can't be better (I could have gone with ": +2/+2 until EOT", though). But, as with the colors itself, one is usually better than another at something, so it's just natural. The mirror is still well represented.
Since the first ability is so much more powerful than the second one, I'd personally pack this card in a mono-white deck. If I was drafting mono black... maybe I'd play this... depends on how many evasive creatures I have, and if I think I can get one good swing in before the invariable creature removal two for ones me.
I like the balance that these two abilities represent, and if this was a common, I would have suggested upping adding a +1/+1 counter to ... where it would be relevant but not step on the black ability. But, I suppose we expect a certain oompf from the uncommon slot. Still, since this card is strictly better than Daily Regimen, you may want to think about it.
