Sounds like the two abilities are identical, but often enough they aren't. How evil!
Actually, I really want to make this a split card.
One ability on each half, and one half would be 2/2 - but the cunning part is that the other half would be 2/2 instead. Hah!
Yeah, a variation on that wording works.
"As an additional cost to play the activated ability of any permanent, sacrifice that permanent."
Except I'm not sure "as an additional cost" works like that. And it screws over any permanent that ALREADY has sac in the cost.
Come to think of it, you could also make "0. 0/0. ~ isn't put into the graveyard for having zero toughness", I'm sure it would be good for something :)
:)
:)
I don't think you CAN template this, but it's actually fairly understandable.
Type, not subtype, right?
Works wonders on artifact-creatures and such though, too.
Designed solely to crash MTGO.
Well, that and to be generally hilarious.
Really want to write 'sacrifice this' but it needs to be 'sacrifice that' - is the intent clear though? Voluntary simplification.
Sure, on its own it's just a sink. Basalt on its own is just a 'do nothing'.
Maybe I need to make it do something without a third card.
Probably horirbly worded - riff on Power Artifact obviously, but also intended to be usable to make, say, prodigal sorcerer less useful.
That rules text is awesomely succinct. It's the best argument I've seen in ages for making the rules actually cope with abbreviated abilities like that...
I don't see much point in whirring it, though. Just seems to be a mana sink.

I SPIT on your newfangled and wordy templating.
So yeah - this doens't quite go whirr, but when it does, it goes big.
