Lowered cost
Chandra's Phoenix is also YUM!
Though as a Chandra card, should clearly have explosion related flavourtext.
Perhaps something like "You know, I kind of like this bird."
And this is a four cost spell to make them stoppit :)
Could possible be "Lifelink. Deal 4 damage to target creature" But this is probably clearer.
I do like it. Not being able to shoot the opponent isn't a huge downside; but worth the +1/+1 this has got.
I love it actually haha.
Hee. Adding lifegain to Flame Slash. Interesting.
It's very good, but gold uncommons are allowed to be very good. Seems fine.
V: You are aware that tournament manabases tend to be 80%-100% nonbasic, right?
Templating suggestion:
> When ~ dies, if you control three or more Shrines, you may pay
. If you do, return ~ to the battlefield with two +1/+1 counters on it.
I like it. It reminds me of Undying too, but is balanced by the way you need to keep two mana up (of specific colours).
Well. I was going by Chandra's Phoenix. It's probably easier for most red decks to burn an opponent than to reveal a Mountain.
gibber Ok, now it's seriously aggressive. Before I'd think "Ooh, this is interesting" And now I'm thinking "Oooh. I See this card? That means I'm playing red this draft."
2/2 haste flying for 3. Yum! And it comes back as a 4/4 haste flyer? YUM!
Bah; I think it should just leave them revealed. Cards already cope with the top card of the library being revealed.
But yeah, as there's no reason to do that... This now frobbles the top of your library and so significantly empowers itself. (Reveal three cards, make sure the land isn't the top card; next turn do it again... Or use the second ability and know what you're gonna get...)
Which is kinda more blue than red. But that last ability is red.
Oh yes; I didn't twig that it triggers all of those. Ok, yeah, cost 4 is probably fine then.
It's gonna be fairly junk out of set; but it has its niche I guess.
Yes, i have calculated the amount of shrine on this first set, compared to Scars of mirrodins "Metal Craft" and it will be about the same.
I have also figured out that the % to get a shrine creature card in a booster in a draft. will be about 17% which i findokey. But i will fix the numbers
Might be "For each non-basic land each player controls, they sacrifice it unless they pay
"
But eh, it's perfectly obvious what is meant. It's still "lose half your lands unless you didn't cast anything last turn" but half isn't all, so maybe ok now. I'd still prefer something subtler that's useful sometimes when they aren't running shrines all over the place.
To good now? i buffed it since compared to ((Lightning Helix)) this only hits creatures.
Interesting. It regenerates bigger, but resets everything else. And only if you have shrines.
It's... kinda like the undying ability; but also kinda not (since this works again and again, but needs mana)
And it's aggressively costed - but gold, so it's kinda CMC3?
I reckon it's worth a try.
One thing to note - you're gonna need a fair whack of non-shrine creatures to pad things out. And this can almost be one of them - it's good enough without that ability; if you have the right mana.
It's a special combo card to work with Land revealers in the set.
