Is the second part supposed to be a triggered ability? If so, should be worded (on a separate line) as, "When a creature you control blocks, it gets +1/+1 and gains defender until the beginning of your next turn's end step."
Well, it is supposed to read "blocking" lol... but no, it is not a triggered ability. It is a static ability to denote exactly when a blocking creature is a blocking creature. Then and there.
The "gain defender until the end of your next turn" doesn't work, then. It should be either a triggered ability as above or they only have defender while they're blocking (which, obviously, doesn't do anything).
Ok, new wording, it is now a trigger then.
So... when I block, I make my creatures worse? Because that's mostly what I read when I see this card... I'd rather not have it on the battlefield in the first place. I definitely would not like to dedicate a slot to it.
I'm pretty aware that that's not how the card works, and that there are plenty of match-ups and decks where this card is great. As far as first impressions go, though, this card is kind of poopy. Maybe the bonus should be greater and the card more expensive? It would also give players a reason to build around this card... you know... because you could always just play Crusade instead.
Oh, also, I'm just going through your white cards today, but what's with all the black hate? White doesn't hate red ever? Because I think I've seen four anti-white black cards so far, but Hazduur seems to be cool with Joven and Chandler hanging around the abbey.
Hmm, good point. I'll fix that issue up. As for this card...hmm.
removed the part about black creatures.
Yay for revisiting the Masako the Humorless ability.
Agreed. The card seriously jumped in playability.
Ok than.
