It wouldn't be broken at 1 mana, but it would be generally better than Telepathy and Peek at that point, which you probably don't want in an artifact.
It's not strictly worse, but it costs a ton more and you eat card disadvantage at the same time.
How about "When Spiritforge Master enters the battlefield put a +1/+1 counter on target creature. That creature gains haste until end of turn."?
Doesn't really change his power level, but makes him very red.

Hahaha, that's dope. Blue would probably [?] get it if it were printed today, but since this hasn't been done before you can put it into whatever colour you want. Blue getting all the wacky new effects is lame. I think this fits in red > black > blue, personally. Write "whenever an opponent casts a spell" to make it feel blacker if you want.
That works too. I just said deathtouch because there have been a couple 1/1 flying lifelinkers in black lately.
Just take out the "may" then, and it'll work the way you want.

Compare to Mogg Fanatic and Icatian Javelineers, both of which had the heck played out of them, neither of which targeted the opponent all that often.
Rarity shouldn't have a lot to do with power level.
Also, Meddle was in Mirage.
Dropping something to common shouldn't change its power level much, only its complexity.

imo, when you tack "draw a card" onto something it feels like, "okay, this spell doesn't do a lot, so it's easy to cast it without spending a lot of effort." Looting is different, and it makes it feel like it should be part of the spell's effect. Do you know what I mean?
I mainly just suggested the draw a card to make it playable. If you think it would become too powerful you can always bump it to 2U. If you like the looting for some other reason, that's fine too.
I'd like to note, though, that "unblockable" only appears on two other cards in this set. 95% of the time this card is blank as it is.
"Worse" is perfectly fine. Commendable even. "Strictly worse" is boring and bad, imo.
You mention that a lot. Do you feel that the power of the card affects flavour? To me the flavour feels the same if it's at U or 5U.
