I have no problem with the concept of enchantments being able to tap, but I don't know if it's worth arguing for this card. It seems to me that, if your opponent wants to sacrifice all is his artifacts at once to get a bunch of artifacts, he should be allowed to. Perhaps the activation should just be increased to
or
? The artifacts played off this are going to cost
less anyway...
It's a convention in Magic that Enchantments don't tap. It just doesn't work with the flavor of the game. "I'm going to use this lasting spell, and later the spell is going to... exert itself so much it has to wait for my next move before it can again?"
This... Okay. Well, it's properly costed, because it's such a niche card, but it can be broken so foolishly easily. Force of will + Jin Gitaxias, or just Gustha's Scepter. Part of being in "exile" is that it won't come back unless the care that put it there has a counteraction to itself that triggers later. You're splashing around in dangerous waters here, friend.
Thanks
Hey neat! I like this double helping of tribal with a simple base ability. I don't know if I'd run it in a draft if I had no Zombies, my opponent had no swamps and/or I had no Minion interaction... but I remember a number of people running Runed Stalactite with no interaction in their deck to take advantage of it, so it can't be that bad...
Why not? Nothing to say you can't and it looks cleaner than shoehorning in the "activate this ability only once per turn" text in there.
Tapping enchantments?
Ah yes, good point, and sensible choice.
Made it a 2/4 instead as most treefolk have greater toughness than power.
Nice reference to Dark Heart of the Wood / Darkheart Sliver. (Could probably be a 3/3 for 4; power level seems a bit low at the moment, as the ability costs two different coloured mana.)
Ah but you need to remember that with the intaki, the drones all get boosts from the 'synapse' creatures and this pulls double duty as an Elf as well. Intended for limited & block constructed only. Am working on an intro pack list titled Intaki Assault which will show this card's position and why it is 'worse' than Runeclaw Bear
Um... wow. Many sets include a card that's strictly better than Runeclaw Bear, or at least a reprint of it (Cylian Elf). This is so much worse than even that.
Inspired by the film Mimic and its "bad guys" the Judas Breed.
For the card it is a humanoid sized and shaped insect that can, mimic the appearance of a cloaked and cowled elf.
