You could probably get a 3/3 flying lifelink for 4W, judging by Kjeldoran Gargoyle. But Hierarchy 2 isn't that hard to achieve for a 5-drop either, and there's no need to hugely push the boat out on this card.
Flavor-wise it feels like it needs has fear and be Terror-on a stick, but then it would be broken.
Heh. I see :) But with this ability, it doesn't die to a single flying deathtoucher, for example.
I'm thinking of proxying up a Clockwork Wings deck or two for our Games Evening, either this Tuesday or next Tuesday, and giving it a little playtest to see how they work. (Hmm, "Clockwork Wings" was only ever meant to be a playtest name: I need to make sure to think up a better one before too long, or it'll stick...)
Oh, that reminds me...
Well, being 10/10 makes it pretty darn likely it'll destroy one of them :)
"Connect
(
: Attach to target atifact you control other than Basalt Monolith. Connect only as a sorcery.)"
(And yes, it should be "not named" instead of "other than". It needn't even be in the reminder text if it's in the rules.)
But that's not a serious suggestion. I agree it seems likely these connectors would be degenerate somewhere, but also I assume you're designing them not to be. And I really want to try them and see how they actually do play :)
Hmm... you may be right. Perhaps instead "Whenever one or more creatures attack you, ~ deals 3 damage to one of those creatures"?
Ha!
Well, it's the green community thing, which is the flavour of the police in this set - hence collaborate (which was designed about a week before Battle Cry was previewed!). Imagine a police force all mobilising to catch one particularly tricky thief, all working together... I think that's what I was thinking when I designed this, anyway.
But this only untaps nonartifact creatures, so it still doesn't do much whirring...
...As in, you want it to destroy two of its blockers?
Ah, but both of them need you to find an artifact to put them on that can tap :) And this doesn't grant any way to untap things, so it's not whirr except if you dig out Basalt Monolith. And, frankly, this whole set breaks with Basalt Monolith, so I'm not going to stress over it.
V's referring to the way Animate Artifact says "If it's not already a creature". Read "cygnify" as "Lignify". But I don't think it's a problem, because it can only hit artifacts you control, and there won't be many cases where you'll want to make them 1/2. Maybe on an Ornithopter :)
EDIT: Snap.
Ok, kinda not thinking about the 'you control' bit; I guess it turning darksteel collossi into darksteel kittens isn't such a problem, then.
Hmm. Like pingers? And double strikers, I suppose. It does at least only trigger once if a creature damages the whole board. I don't think it's much more hideous than Quicksilver Dagger.
Excellent!
Hmm, true, this is rather nasty with a Whispersilk Cloak and one other equipment. And they do keep reprinting Whispersilk Cloak in core sets. Okay, this block won't have equipment that grants shroud.
huh?
Also, they're not really gathering the resources...
What, like Motivational Piker?
Not quite sure what the flavour connection between the mechanic and creature type is, mind.
And there's the third part of the whirrrr....
Anyway you can stretch the wording to be 'another one' of those creatures?
Freaking whirrr! This works stupidly well with the +1/+1 counter thing.
Needs the horrible animate artifact wording, unless it's intended to cygnify artifact creatures, which seems a bit good.
Oooh, perfect token defence for
might be a bit good.
There are 35 common artifacts, and only max 15 of them will already gave tap effects. I think that's fine. It can work on artifact creatures just fine.
