Mmm... blue gets that - unless you're following that guy in GDS2. Perhaps discard a card then draw one, to be more red?

It's not just one guy - the general conclusion among MaRo and GDS2 contestants is that "looting" (draw-then-discard) can be red in flavour. I wanted it here because the defender trolls want to have some useful abilities, and they're only in green and red, and I've already got lots of pinging.

Also, they're not really gathering the resources...

As I mentioned on Goblin Looter, in the articles by mtgcolorpie on red looting (one, two) he points out that discard-then-draw feels a bit more red than draw-then-discard.
