I foresee this leading to both memorable successes and memorable failures in Limited.
A version of Whetstone, to give a useful sink for your spare power (and mana).
Like Temple Bell crossed with Bazaar of Baghdad.
Not sure if this will be too good. Hopefully all the pingers and reach should mean it's okay.
Yup, taken.
In set structure terms, this is one of the three common reach cards to answer the higher-than-normal density of flyers, along with Eagle-Eye Watchman and Skystretch Cabling.
Not as good as Longbow Archer, but more common and less intensive mana requirements. One of the three common reach cards to answer the higher-than-normal density of flyers, along with Skywatcher Patrol and Skystretch Cabling.
Art: A beady-eyed policeman stares grimly at a distant bird or flying machine, and brandishes an unwieldy-looking steam-propelled crossbow or proto-firearm.
Vulshok Morningstar was ludicrously good as a
cost-
equip common Equipment, so I'm being cautious and costing this at
for the moment. One of the three common reach cards to answer the higher-than-normal density of flyers, along with Skywatcher Patrol and Eagle-Eye Watchman.
Taking my cue from Basilisk Collar that deathtouch equipment may want to be rare. Uncommon artifact slots are somewhat squeezed anyway.
I'm in Cambridge tonight (tues) and possibly next week, I'd definitely like to see a proxy deck (or two) if you do FWIW. I hadn't realised it was complete enough, but I'm definitely v curious to see how it plays. Although I haven't had time to proxy any of my or your sets myself, despite keeping meaning to.
I know what you mean about playtest names; I remember several wizards articles saying it always happened to them until they adopted deliberately abstract names for them. FWIW, clockwork wings is definitely a good name: not quite in flavour for magic, but v good for this set.
