I'd like a good name for the Baron's deathtrap armour that he forces his troops to wear. Any ideas? It could go in flavour texts as well as serve for the name of this card. (This card might end up being deferred to the second set, but I'd still welcome suggestions for the name of the armour.)
Half of Twitch for
less, or a Cerulean Wisps that can hit noncreature permanents for
more. The secret motivation for this card (and also Polymath's Ritual) is to provide a way for people to activate power abilities (i.e. ones that cost [Steam], etc) by surprise. In this case, this can work with the common land cycle or the common "
: Add [{power}]" cycle, to provide situations when it looks like someone's tapped out so their power ability can't be used right now, but this card can allow them to activate the power ability by surprise.
Reprint of Skyhunter Skirmisher. Works well with collaborate, and is a good target for backstab.
Actually, I think I'll move the damage to the mana ability rather than the power ability. That makes them more useful as power sources than power sinks, which is their primary intended role.
Ohhh, yes, of course. Silly me.
This cycle (Beam-Focus Relic, Amber-Preserved Relic, Flywheel Relic, Evaporation-Engine Relic, Permashock Relic) was intended to be a cycle of mana stones comparable to Talisman of Unity or Simic Signet. Continuing the principle of being useful even if you have no other power cards. They've got a significant drawback compared to the Talismans in that they can't be tapped for colourless. That may be a pretty hefty drawback; I might switch them to ETBT instead of the pain.
Except you've now fixed it to be better in only 1 way.
Would be strictly better (in two ways, at lower rarity) than the Talisman Cycle from Mirrodin, if that had done enemy pairs.
