two target -> all creatures
5/4 -> 5/3
added flavor
Why not <=? I think that would play nicer with existing cards
Given the strength of experience counters, this might be better costing XXUU
equal to or less than -> equal to
2/2 -> 1/3
rarity
added flavor
@dude1818 @SecretInfiltrator yeah I agree it definitely could use some work... I'll keep it in mind :/
added vigilance
@SecretInfiltrator @dude1818 There's some precedent for noncreature spells in white - although most of these cards come from sets that rely heavily on the set's theme and white's role in that set. I'm hoping to give white a similar role in this set as well.
I could readily see "aura or equipment," which possibly lets you get away with "artifact or enchantment." Triggering off instant and sorcery seems weird
Not being keyword makes this stand out even more glaringly as something you wouldn't really associate with white.
They don't. But I feel that's also a "generally don't" situation that allows exceptions. Now thinking about the life swing this provides in multiplayer and comparing it to e. g. the life swing granting lifelink could create... I think the Aura is upcost enough to justify the template.
I think the real perpetrators that don't get to use this template are effects that are repeatable more than once a turn and/or scale to potentially high numbers e. g. Gray Merchant of Asphodel.
The new template was in full effect during Kaladesh-block already AFAIK, but on an individual card they still decided to let you gain the life.
They don't do the "equal to life lost" template anymore :(
Half-fight!
Plus they've given up on prowess as evergreen, so are you using that as a set mechanic?
It's Blackmail! I like the design, but you might want to iterate some more on this.
That's weirdly nonblue. I mean, you could argue "Mill target creature's controller for N unless they exile the creature" reads more blue, but both are weird.
I'm also not certain the card is actually... good.
