Yes. The scry part was originally second, but the name caused me to switch them.
Is the order to be pure flavor? It does not seem to matter mechanically.
I think it's probably best to see if you can find wording that does let it work.
Or make it an aura instead of an instant, and accept that you have to do it in advance.
Yeah, it won't switch targets. The spell would have to be used proactively. That leads to anything being cast or activated would just not be cast/activated. You could play this before triggered abilities occur, I think? Is it even worth keeping at that point?
Won't this not quite work; because targets are already set before this resolves?
Reminds me of Alpha Brawl... does it need to worded the same way (say if the creatures have infect/wither)?
No longer exiles a permanent. Now a pseudo, one-sided wrath effect. No longer an instant. Upped cmc to 6.
Currently costing at 4. I did consider 3 cmc a la Vindicate. Original name was "Royal Edict." Earlier version drew cards equal to CMC (when costing that, would have been much more than 4 of course). Just getting an exile and life wasn't too exciting, so I added in a way to draw a single card. I'm unsure if green would have such an effect in its area when it comes to card draw.
Colossus of Sardia from Antiquities is still good to go!
I point at Shatterstorm in Antiquities - which set had a heck of a lot of artifact hate, in retrospect.
Still, theme-hosers are used a lot more sparingly nowadays than they were then. And are usually slightly more subtle. And in the next set when they realise "Ooops" :)
The other form of hoser is something that is underpowered unless the meta swings overly far towards the thing it is hosing.
Seems about as advisable as putting "Destroy all Dinosaurs." into Ixalan. You have a surprising amount of hate cards for the artifact theme you supposedly want to encourage. Strong plentiful hate cards against a flagship theme usually is a bad idea.
power increased to 3
The UEOT might be redundant since it's in the reminder text.
I just used a name I felt appropriate for the card based on the set.
I've called this particular card design (target creature loses all abilities UEOT) "Tabula Rasa" which I would prefer over "Obscure the Details".
There's double brackets around the reminder text btw.
reduced cmc from 2 to 1
Added missing word, changed from opponents losing life to you gaining life, and makes player target their own creature
I wanted a black indestructible card, but I didn't know what to do from there. The opposite could maybe work (which seems more white-green) and have you gain life equal to the creature's toughness?
Typo (missing an 'equal')
Interesting colour flip though - black usually sacrifices things to hurt its enemies. This saves things (potentially its enemies things).
One big issue is that this will never actually have a downside. You'll either use it to win the game, on one of your own creatures that is blocking - or on an opponents big creature at the end of their turn when they cannot do anything useful with it.
Which is a shame. It might be more interesting if this had to target an opponents creature, and/or was sorcery speed?
