It's a tough ability to cost, too. I can't figure out if the ability is too broken for 6cc. While it is very different, it does kind of remind me of Memory Jar in that it looks fair at first glance, but it's probably not going to be anywhere near as useful for the opponent as it will be for the controller...
That's a big ol' Howling Mine effect, except better in some ways, because everyone gets the cards only when you do.
How many copies of Thran Dynamo have you been holding onto, waiting for a card like this to cause a price spike?
Arg. You'd think I'd do my homework and look up proper templating. Corrected to match the Shaman. Thank you Alex.
See Deathrite Shaman or Grim Lavamancer for templating:
comes before text, and you can't target in costs.
Assuming this is templated to work, this is pretty wacky and kinda fun. Not as oppressive as Spawnwrithe but pretty nice potential for a growing swarm, as long as there aren't too many other things eating graveyards.
Part of the loose rare 'likes artifacts' cycle. Green is tough, for obvious reasons. I thought about moving the Atog ability into green, but I assumed some people would complain. This is my compromise. Doesn't hurt that it helps support my 'clean graveyard' theme. I'm going to need to make a couple more cards that reward for that.
Part of the loose 'likes artifacts' rare cycle. Red has Ray of Command, and can't see why it wouldn't also get Karn's Touch. Infusing life temporarily into an artifact? Putting a fire in its boiler? It's not like red couldn't use a few more evergreen ideas, we don't see this used much any more, there isn't any good reason why we don't, and, flavorfully, it's right up red's color pie. I'd argue that the permanent version - Animate Artifact - is red, too, but... you know... one step at a time.
