I reckon the discovery threshold could be three and give this target player, compared to Night's Whisper and Sign in Blood.
Corrected wording based on Night's Whisper
Yeah I can get behind that. +x/+3 just feels too green to me. I usually associate red with pumping toughness from between 0 to 2.
Corrected wording- '6'->'six', '3'->'three'
Lowered the cost by 1, since the new version only adds +1/+1 counters.
Yea, I was just thinking about it, and the new version is over-costed. I'll change it to UG.
This actually seems pretty weak. Couldn't really on this to give more than 4/4 on average, and you need to keep tapping your lands to use it. Could cost
easily I reckon.
This seems very forced. I'd rather this be green with untap target creature or land.
Built to Smash and Distemper of the Blood suggest this is within reasonable boundaries for red. Maybe this could be +5/+2?
Could be
at uncommon. Maybe its an uncommon effect but don't really just want to redo Read the Bones or something like that.
Changed it to add +1/+1 counters instead.
Those cards are both green for a reason. Red just doesnt get those type of effects normally, they get stuff like Fists of the Anvil and Brute Strength. If it pumps toughness it rarely goes above +x/+1. I understand the thought process behind it but its not red.
This is quite pushed for common, but I guess it's okay.
Corrected wording 'Cycling- pay 3 life'->'Cycling- Pay 3 life'
Paying 3 life is worth a good
, which is on the lower end of default cycling costs, which are usually either M or
. Paying 3 life is definitely worth a card, which is easily
.
The comparisons are to green cards though. If you insist on it adding to toughness, +4/+2 would be a compromise.
"And the reason I prefer this is that if you don't do it this way, depending on where the word Discovery is in the text, it will put the rules text smack in the middle of a sentence or in the middle of the card's main text. Which doesn't look like it should, it should be at the end."
It's because it doesn't differentiate mechanics on category. With MSE you can put it under 'action' and will put the text in the right place automatically.
On the card, I think this is fine compared to Act on Impulse.
Yea, I actually feel like Wild Conjuration is a little underwhelming for a rare. Tacking trample on it helped a little. But as an early drop it's weak.
To compare this to Ensoul Artifact, this has the benefit of not requiring you to actually pay mana to cast the permanent you're enchanting. But it costs 1 more and isn't an automatic 5/5 creature.
I think it'd be wise to change Wild Conjuration to P/T = Discovery and change this to add +1/+1 counters.
fixed some wording 'elemental > Elemental' 'that's still a land > It's still a land' unified with other animating land effects
"Isn't this a bit OP at this mana cost and as a common though? Even without the Discovery part. +5/+3 for 2 mana is a lot."
Phytoburst, Titanic Growth
"Red doesn't usually pump toughness, and when it does its only like +1 or +2. Few exceptions to this ofc, but still think that this shouldn't pump toughness. +5/+0 I could get behind, or +4/+0 if you want to be on the safe side."
Again, Phytoburst and Titanic Growth are the power comparisons. My preferred alternative if this doesn't work out would
for +4/+2.
Having a fixed p/t is less powerful, although this does interact with land destruction/removal. I was think of changing Wild Conjuration to the version that made it power and toughness equal to your discovery, so maybe this could put +1/+1 counters on the land?
