"" comes before "Sacrifice ~" in costs. Also, since you're counting words for common-suitability, remember the damage template is "~ deals 2 damage to ".
I always squint when I see red burn cards that only hit combatants. It's much more traditionally white's domain. There are occasional exceptions, though, so I think this is OK.
But what's a blocking player?
Yes indeed! Fantastic kind of rider to add to a Weakness-style card.
One of the original inspirations for Replicate (as in Pyromatics), too. And yes, this is a nice design.
I selected Bone Nest Drake and Random Generator gave me Taste of Paradise. Tricky. At least it ended up in the two colors that like to gain life. I do like how it lines up cards like Wurm's Tooth with cards like Wooden Sphere by using Taste of Paradise's concepts.
By the way, Taste of Paradise gives us one more card that we can point to and say "Nice common, Alliances."
I selected Bone Nest Drake and Random Generator gave me An-Zerrin Ruins. I'm tempted to just have this dude tap the creatures straight up, but the ability is rather strong for common, and it would only get worse if this guy included the line "Tribal decks can not block". At least the ability feels blue, and it happens to line up on a card that likes it when you play blue...
I selected Bone Nest Drake and Random Generator gave me Gangrenous Zombies. I'm trying to keep this not very confusing, since its supposed to be a common. Also, I was going to make this guy straight up hit the board for two, but commons shouldn't do that. Dealing 2 to all blocking creatures seems work-around-able, though. Funny, that both of these problems are spawned by a common... Thank you Ice Age.
I chose Bone Nest Drake and Random Generator chose Weakness. That's a pleasing effect. I've never been a fan of Weakness style cards in black. I always wondered why I wasn't just killing the stupid thing. Keeping your terribly tortured Grizzly Bears around so I can gain more life while they cower in fear seems fitting, though.
Swapping the "Happens every three turns" strangeness for being cycled? Seems strong, but not horrible.
You know, the more I think of it, the more I think "The Dude" is right. Festering March is rather unique among Nausea effects, and I should probably respect that. We'll see if people think this is too good after they play it... but it's probably just strong.
Also, I just noticed that you can target yourself with this if you really, really want to sacrifice that creature. Funny.
Pretty much. Crooked Cliffs was generated first, but I saw the upcoming problem of doing something like forcing trample in blue. So, with the other 3, I randomized ahead of time so I had fiddle room.
I really like this design approach. Presumably you asked the random generator for 4 more cards, and then assigned them to the four remaining colours as seemed most appropriate?
Heh. Thank you Alex. Editing.
Thank you. Added "When you cycle". I also added the word may, so you didn't have to accidently wipe out your creatures to draw a card.
The costing on effects like this is rather difficult... I may have jumped up a bit much, but it's rather hard to tell what's fair here. The question I posited to myself is "Would people play with it?" I can expect some grumbles from players, but if this card is preferred over a basic swamp most of the time, then the power level is fine. Truth is, that instant speed -1/-1 won't come up much... but when it does, it can bust a game wide open.
