I selected Firewick Sharer and Random Generator gave me Control of the Court. I was a little sad that I didn't land on more creature abilities in Random Generator and got more instants/sorceries this time around. It seems like this cycle wants things like Trample or Flying, not a bunch of funkiness. Again, I'm concerned about power level. I had to bump this down to 2/1 to ensure you're opponent can generally handle the storng-with-aggro ability.
Also, unlike the other 4 of this cylce, this one secretly goes long, which makes me happy. You prioritize playing lands less when you have this card on the batlefield. Which is fine. If you play with a lot of cards with converted mana cost of 4 or less, you can play them, hold onto your lands, occasionally sneak this guy in there, then have a good shot of discarding useless lands...
I chose Firewick Sharer and Random Generator gave me Stolen Grain. Yowza.
I've got too many things that are leaning R/B here, so turning this into everyone gains 5 life works out well. My only concern is that this might actually be a 1 casting cost white or green spell. In other words, this one is probably too good. I don't really want to change the life to 4, though, since I'm already a few steps removed from Stolen Grain. Hmmm... changed from 1/3 to 1/1. That's probably fine.
I selected Firewick Sharer and Random Generator gave me Fact or Fiction. My Mission: Find a way to make Fact or Fiction cost less than . I'm pretty sure this gets there... I can't make up my mind if I want this to happen or not... I draw a card, but my opponent Indexes me. That's some confidence I'm showing in my deck.
I chose Firewick Sharer and Random Generator gave me Tivadar of Thorn. I got to be a bit careful here, since Scuttlemutt was secretly a spectacular common. A 5 color cycle of scuttlemutts should be very good, but, if the abilities aren't busted, should work out fine.
At least seems much better. Thank you.
Well, she can, but only under the generalship of someone like Gaddock Teeg.
Kemba, Kha Regent really wants to use this in EDH, but is sad that she no can haz cheezburger.
Instead of hexproof, it could grant vigilance, thereby fixing the problem. Since it's rare, it could do both, maybe?
Exactly seven lands, or at least seven lands?
Hmm. It's only really crazy if you've got a creature that removes +1/+1 counters to make token creatures. So, Twilight Drover (or I suppose Spike Tiller). Equip this to a token or land, sac it, get the ability to make 5 more. But then you've still got to pay 5 mana (or use Xenograft or Brass Squire) to do it again. So it's probably fine.
That's what I thought, but I figured I'd be clear. Reverting to normal formatting, though.
The sword of kaldra bonus ability was barely a bonus (though, I think I've seen it matter once, so maybe I'm kidding myself). I could probably drop the equip cost, though. I'm actually a little more concerned with the second half of the ability being more abusable than the first half. Add to saproling deck, and a sacrifice outlet and you should be making some tough to block damage in very short order.
I think you're right about the flavor, Vitenka, but mechanic-wise, I'd prefer the counters pass around when the creature is destroyed. I suppose that means I should change the flavor, then. Hmm...
Still makes a fine blocker. I'd pull the power and make it purely toughness, but it feels a bit too much like I'm telling the player how they should play this card. I like the stress a little better of just squaring the p/t.
