I always squint when I see red burn cards that only hit combatants. It's much more traditionally white's domain. There are occasional exceptions, though, so I think this is OK.

But what's a blocking player?

Odd that it's not "You may gain 1 life" Odd that it's lifegain in red. Quite like the "A wave of flame precedes my forces" flavour, though.
