Recent updates to Zaberoth: (Generated at 2025-12-05 18:34:49)
flavor added (1.11)
third mode changed (1.11)
second ability changed (1.11)
rename
I like it. The simpler form of Seht's Tiger or Teroh's Vanguard.
...Wait, I already said that back in December? It appears I have nothing more to say -.-
Vigilant Drake, is that you?
nvm it's just a different ability now
replaced Stron Saran Guardians with another common flier
ability now costs 1W
buffed up; psyche siege mastodon is probably fine
You get to keep whatever it was of yours they were going to kill - quite likely as part of a combat exchange; which will quite likely put you up another one. But yes - very strong; a grizzly counterspell.
It's a 2-for-1. The on-curve creature and the "you gain a spell" are one in the same thing.
templating
Probably too conducive to 3-for-1s for its cost. You get an on-curve creature, they lose a spell, you gain a spell, all for 2 mana. Should probably be

.
Changed name
exile -> discard for consistency
right, we added the no-regen clause
This is word-for-word what I would put on my invitational card. ;)
Sometimes I think R&D passes stuff through the system just to mess with casual designers. "What taboo can we break today?" "Well, what if we reprinted Roc of Kher Ridges, but gave it the samite healer ability. We'll argue that red knows enough about dealing damage, that it knows how to undo it as well. It just isn't effecient at it. Then we can print a red Sanctum Custodian in the next block to mess with them. So how's the Mythic Rare dual land cycle coming?"
And yep, now Dark Ascension has come along and printed this in red: Wrack with Madness.
+1/+0
Fair. +1/+0, which was the original stats.
(Psyche doesn't let you skip draws if you have an empty library.)
Mmmm... it's going to find a specialist home in decks that go "Ok, dump my library in my graveyard, and I want to make absolutely certain I can't be forced to draw"
But yeah, there's bad and there's "Oh, this booster only had 14 cards in it"
There's a place for bad cards if they still do something fun. This card is a Zoidberg. It's bad, and makes me feel bad. Had this simply been a 0/3 Vigilance for
it would be a better card.
