These are some brief descriptions of the subthemes I am trying to push through design for draft (by color-pair).
- W/U (Saranis) — control/skies; clog down the ground with high-toughness/vigilance blockers and tappers, while attacking from the air
- U/B — possibly dementia, which has access to direct mill cards in addition to creatures; also adept at drawing more cards while shrinking the opponent’s hand with discard
- B/R — possibly dementia, with the most aggressive creatures (red being the "fatty" color for Nightmares); access to large amounts of removal
- R/G — midrange "dinos"; larger creatures at every point of the curve accompanied by accel
- G/W (Eltis) — rebirth, the cycle of life and death; many cards have effects when they ETB (often both); other G/W cards provide recursion so that these cards can be "looped"
- W/B — can combine black’s sacrifice effects with white ETB/die cards; likely some form of removal-based control
- B/G — similarly, combine black’s sacrifice effects with green ETB/die cards, probably to greater effect than W/B
- G/U — psyche deck; these two colors are the best at drawing cards and overwhelming opponent with advantage
- U/R — dementia or psyche; many instants and sorceries in this color combination
- R/W (Firehearts) — weenie aggro; many small aggressive creatures and cheap removal spells
- U/B/R — Nightmares; some fixing provided as well as easy-to-cast bombs
- Rifts — Uh... Rifts. Probably not particularly easy to pull off (since the Rifts generally won't protect you by themselves), but perhaps it can be done!
