Probably too conducive to 3-for-1s for its cost. You get an on-curve creature, they lose a spell, you gain a spell, all for 2 mana. Should probably be

It's a 2-for-1. The on-curve creature and the "you gain a spell" are one in the same thing.
You get to keep whatever it was of yours they were going to kill - quite likely as part of a combat exchange; which will quite likely put you up another one. But yes - very strong; a grizzly counterspell.
I like it. The simpler form of Seht's Tiger or Teroh's Vanguard.
