Because the cycle is intended exclusively for decks that are primarily of their color, and aren't supposed to be playable in, for instance, Bg. Also because we're trying to keep down on having a bunch of mono twobrid cards at lower rarities, for aesthetic reasons (Shadowmoor/Eventide went a little crazy with HHHHH costs, we're aiming for something between SHM and RAV levels of use).

I think Mediatate is actually not very broken, and you're mistaken that people consider it such. I think that makes this card exciting, and playable in some cases, but not too strong to exist. I know that this would be an absolute piece of trash at UU or 2U, so if this did prove a little too good I would either scrap it entirely or keep the recall reference and increase the drawback a bit.

Meditate is considered quite broken. What do you think that makes this card? I would start testing this at
or
.
Designed well before the HOU cycle, suspect it can be instant
So why doesn't this - and others of its cycle in corresponding manner - cost

? There's no reason to beat around the bush when playing with colorless hybrid. Looking at them, I would say Flame Javelin would be more of a color bend - even that deathtoucher would not be a Wurmcoil Engine that's for sure.
making this cycle more reasonable in 2 color. Also 45/4 to 4/4
testing more guild friendly costs -- will probably also want to change from 4/3

First Strike is really good with combat tricks, and Prowess is a semi combat trick already.
It's pretty nice. I'd certainly want to grab a bunch of them. Huh. I think that means I rate first strike above evasion.
now less similar to tarantula
code shuffling
played like a rare, now a rare
Quite easy to make it go infinite with Mycosynth Lattice; but likely that's not a concern, since that card pretty much exists to go infinite with.
Yeah, my guess is it'll probably stay, but I think it's still something to watch for and remain aware of. My issue isn't that it's instant-speed token making per se, but rather that it's potentially instant-speed token making that under some circumstances doesn't require mana. I doubt it's an issue, but still.

It's not impossible, but there is plenty of instant speed token making in modern sets. This not being common takes it out of NWO, and it is an onboard effect. I think being a legit build around rather than kind of a trap is more important, and my guess is that untapped will help a lot there. I'm definitely open to reverted based on playtesting or tweaking the powerlevel in other ways.

Actually just a shell for when we design him properly. Placeholder numbers are meaninglessly wacky.
