"Target your exiled card?" How would you phrase that? :P
@ Alex: Oh, that explanifies things!
@ L2i0n0k7: Well, that's what I get for trying to base my cards on a set I was unfamiliar with.
To all: Basically the concept was to make a card that had a cognitive dissonance, i.e. "Do you want to attack with this guy, give your opponent -1/-1 and/or poison counters, or do you want card advantage instead?" Going either way, I mean, that it could work in a control deck or an aggro deck. I think that
for Proliferate is high, but that's the point...So attacking would be more profitable, as opposed to, "Attack opponent once, then proliferate to victory while gaining card advantage at the same time." Any suggestions as to making the intent a little more obvious would be welcome.
Changed it to 7 to offset the possible 2 life you'd be paying anyway.
Now I'm DEFINITELY sure the wording on that one isn't right...Help would be appreciated.
...Oh. Will fix. I'm kind of not up on how things would go tournament wise--I only really got into MTG around Innistrad. I have a general idea, but even so... Thx.
This is also incredibly similar to Viral Drake. I doubt they would get printed in the same set.
I also find this card to be rather curious. Normally, you want abilities to work with synergy. But tapping to draw a card, and infect has no synergy... since you don't want to attack or block if you have this card. Tapping to draw a card and Proliferate at least doesn't get in each other's way.
Personally, I like riddles. I appreciate cards that say "Maybe you should try to make the field open so you can get in once with this guy, then proliferate to victory." Unfortunately, most other people don't like their cards to trip over themselves.
The curse of blue again!
Just a note: You don't need to add asterisks around reminder text - Multiverse italicises anything inside parentheses automatically, and adding another set of italics cancels that out.
Also,
to draw a card is only seen on rares (Archivist) or fully leveled-up uncommons (Enclave Cryptologist), and costs rather more than
in both cases.
This was created for Challenge # 015
Granting flashback to cards in your graveyard is an extremely powerful ability. See how big the drawback on Dralnu, Lich Lord is, and even so he was the backbone of a tournament-winning control deck. Doing it at sorcery speed is a bit less strong, but I'd still be rather scared of that [0] ability.
This is created for Challenge # 016.
Ah yes, of course you get to keep the card as well. That's quite a bit better then, even if it misses sometimes.
Ah, but this is also drawing you cards as a repeatable ability. In a monocolour deck. That cost
last time (Illuminated Folio).
I think I know what you intend by the last ability, but I'm not really sure with the current wording. I understand the second ability, but the wording isn't really right. Do you want help with that?
gets you Bottle Gnomes so this is probably about right now; trading off lack of a body for getting it at instant speed. (I agree that five life for
is pretty bad though.)
The idea seems cute enough, but gain 5 life is a low powered card when it costs
. For this casting cost... I'd probably say 8 life.
The weird descendant of Ambassador Oak and Skyshroud Troopers. With robots involved for some reason.
"one-mana noncreature spells" :)
