It took me a second to get this one, but I do see where it comes from now. I don't think it's as successful as some of the others. Also, Flashback doesn't/ can't go on permanent spells. It makes casting them pointless. That's why Back from the Brink is worded as-is.

I think this is far too good. Why would you ever cast it for its evoke cost?
Maybe you could eschew the evoke cost and make the alternate cost a sort of pseudo-evoke.
