Oh, I agree that they need different power levels. I'm just trying to keep those levels much closer to the norm than is, um, normal. But there's "Some junk" and "I only want to run 2 or 3 non-creature artifacts in any deck ever, so let's start by ignoring 99% of them..."
Heh. It started being a slot for a rare. Then I changed my mind. Really I ought to put a rare there, but unless I have a really good idea for one, I'm not doing. Though given the artifact slots that opened up, I may move reduce the artifacts and add the rares back in.
Maybe I should make into the prod then. Only have it shoot the creature it steals at your own face, and set it on fire. If you feel that sentence implies setting the face on fire, I'm ok with that too. As long as the fire is blue.
Hee! I love it!
No, not just that. Because it makes drafting easier if cards aren't all the exact same power level; because it's impossible to get everything the exact same power level; because you can't have cards which look bad but turn out to be good unless you also have cards which look bad and are bad; ...
Here, read it for yourself :P
...This is... an unconventional use of skeleton slots.
Steal is different to ping though. If the ground is stalled enough, this doesn't poke the opponent's face for 2.
(Also, stealing is a very frequent choice for blue mythics in amateur card sets. I note that both blue mythics in my Clockwork Wings relate to stealing, and there's at least one other custom cardset on here where that's the case too.)
Ok, howabout that?
Stompy enough now?
Was "
:Put a +1/+1 counter on ~"
Ah yes, true. Not hugely greater, but then, this isn't hugely more difficult to cast.
Because, why? To sell more packs. I think my set doesn't have that requirement.
Yeah, true. This is a card I really should have put my thoughts on, rather than going straight for wording.
It's technically not a fireball, but it should do.
Indeed. That slot was for a red rare; it got a red-green common dual instead. Similarly green did.
That's pretty shocking, given my method of creating it was to go "Ok, what will I get shouted at for reprinting? Prodigal sorcerer? How about cheaper, and double the size, and hits for 2. Nah, let's make it STEAL. That's utterly ridiculous."
Indestructible is too good to be on a square-stats creature. Scars of Mirrodin design submitted a 1/1 indestructible myr for 2; it came out of development as Darksteel Myr.
The rest of the keyword soup is probably fine. MiniKroma!
This... ...is actually probably spot on for mythic power level.
Er... this is in the skeleton as a red rare, because it has code RR01. Is that what you meant?
Nice. Latulla, Keldon Overseer always did seem rather overpriced.
Insufficiently mythic. For a 6-mana mythic, how about "
: Put a +1/+1 counter on each creature you control"? Compare Mikaeus, the Lunarch, who's doing his thing from turn 3.
Oh. That's not landfall then. (Khalni Heart Expedition would be far better if it worked like that.)
Sets do need some junk.
Mmm, no, an ETB trigger is usually better than a death trigger.
