Edit comment was supposed to read "It's already hard to pull off."
Made legendary and added hexproof, because it'
Ah, yes. Captain Sisay. I wish I had the money and drive to build a beautiful EDH deck around her. For her sake, this should indeed be legendary.
So it is. This does have a different flavor, of course.
Sekki, Seasons' Guide is pretty similar.
Hee. Yes, this looks like a recipe for fun. (Or card disadvantage. One or the other.) Also requires a deck with a load of legends in it, which makes me think of Captain Sisay, which in turn makes me wonder if this could itself be legendary?
Mmm... it takes a while to go off; tolet you bypass casting costs on a load of (presumably huge) stuff..
I think I like it. It's a great big "I win" clock; the opponent can see it coming and deal with it.
Well, those allowed card drawing and counters in multiples, whereas this doesn't. This is probably still awesome, though.
Well of Lost Dreams or Cradle of Vitality without mana payments? Sounds awesome to me.
Ghitu War Cry and Captive Flame are the cards jmg's alluding to. I agree this is probably better at 3 mana, but it's still nice.
Upped the cost; removed "you control" restriction.
Hm. Interesting comparison to Explore and Cultivate. It's pretty similar to Cultivate, except that the card in hand is random rather than a basic of your choice. It's arguable which is better, as they serve slightly different purposes, but I think this should probably just cost
. 2 mana is definitely too cheap, but 4 sounds excessive.
EDIT: Oh, just a Forest, not any basic? Hmm. So it's a cantrip Nature's Lore, then. I still think 3 mana is probably right, but 2 might possibly be okay.
Yeah; but this prints the pure red version at
and the pure white version at
AND you can use it in a red-white deck to go utterly crazy.
It's a fine concept; just too cheap.
I can't remember which two cards do it, but firebreathing for your team has been printed on two identical cards with different names (one from Saviors of Kamigawa, the other from Urza's Legacy. Oh, I'm being lazy today.) for
. I assume if the ever printed the white version, that it couldn't cost more. Neither of the two red firebreathing enchantments made a splash, and I think both were uncommon. That leads me to think that this is generally fair. In a red deck it's the same card for
. In a red/white deck, your mana is split, so you might not get exactly what you want.
It's very nice. I'd like to see this in a few decks.
Indeed, white sun, blood moon ;)
But yowsers, this is powerful. Either half is more than worth the casting cost.
It seems obvious to me, but maybe it's not. And even if it isn't, does that really matter?
which part is sun and which part is moon?
Maybe by
... but
?
