Oh ho! Sneaky!
Lightning Elemental + ... Reassembling Skeleton is the modern one I think? I really want the irritating "If it's in your graveyard with a creature above it it comes back one"
The sneaky part is that this lets you skip your draw step; which can be a lot more than just "Draw a card". So inviting combo possibilities.
The bad part... this CAN stick around, and it's cheaper than Hellspark Elemental (which is actually closer to this card). On the flip side, recasting the hellspark gives you an extra card, while this just replaces your draw? Mmmmmaybe.
I think I'd cost this at to be safe. 3/1 on turn 1 (and it isn't sacrificed, so it's still there on turn 2) is incredibly scary, after all. And you can get it back whenever you need? Too cheap for me.
I can certainly get behind that flavour. Gaining trample on a sudden steal is indeed very good (So I took away a blocker, and attacked with it, AND you're gonna need to block it more than once?) on top of the kill. I dunno, I can see this needs to cost more than act of treason or, say, Fatal Attraction - but it does, so that's ok.
Does it need to be bumped more? Add a small bonus and bump more? Dunno. It's inside the flaky zone of "Let's give it a try"
Interestingly, in my brother's notes he had that this was inspired by Act of Treason and the Ball Lightning/Spark Elemental type of red creatures Basically that the creature is beguiled by her flames which suffuse it and empower it - untapping it and giving it haste but also burning it out (hence the sac). He originally had it costed at and gaining Trample as well but I thought that might be a little much.... (or maybe need to be costed at )
I was more referencing red cards that actually kill, like Fissure. But, yeah, I'm aware that few things can survive a Shivan Meteor. It's probably worth noting that somethings can, like Dawn Elemental, but they're few and far between.
Saying "Red rarely kills creatures" is a bit disingenuous. I mean, sure, technically it's the fire red creates doing the killing, but... Come on, direct damage is red's thing!
I suppose the reasoning is "If I can Act of Treason I can usually kill it off anyway, let's make it a sure thing for one more."
In comparison, Murder costs . This is a more sure way to destroy a creature, since Kiara's Beguiling will smack a Wall of Bone off the table, while Murder will not. I'm guessing that if you designed a card which said "Target player sacifices target creature" that the cost would be ... and that doesn't even throw Act of Treason into the mix... or deal with the fact that red rarely kills creatures.
Steal a creature and then destroy it? Ouchie. Normally you need to do at least a bit of work to find a sac outlet for that. I guess the price bump makes it ok?
Darkheart was considering this as an alternate ability:-
-5:You gain an emblem with “Enchantments you control have Hexproof” and “Each non-Aura enchantment is a creature with power and toughness each equal to its converted mana cost. It's still an enchantment.”
How would that go?
That seems fairer, yes. Still plenty useful: you can dig up Journey to Nowhere and Oblivion Ring effects for as long as you want.
The only worry is that the ultimate isn't very... awesome. It's reminiscent of Greater Auramancy: it's a useful effect for an Aura deck to get, most definitely, but it's not exciting.
Ooh, an enchantment planeswalker. Take a look at Atine, Sculptress of Dreams for my take on this. I suspect getting Idyllic Tutor as a +1 is a bit much for 3 mana.
I could reword it to "Target land type....." or "Choose two land types, all lands of the first chosen type become the second chosen type UEoT".
or "Illusions you control lose "When this becomes the target of a spell or ability, sacrifice it" until end of turn. Also testing with 4 loyalty
You can use it to make your non-blue spells 'uncounterable' in the second main phase, lock out combat tricks when attacking, and turn on Corrupt. I figure those are strong enough abilities.
If you're trying to use it for colour-fixing, that'd usually be a lot worse. For land-walk it's no different (though it sounds splashier) and you already can't use it to mess with your opponents mana on their turn (though I guess it can mess with their combat tricks on your turn, a bit, which your suggested version would do better.)
It is a bit "Wind my key" though. Sad that the "illusions are destroyed by being targetted" thing isn't a keyword you could disable with this. That'd make a great +2.
I like the card, but that's a very weak +2. That may be the point... but I get the impression that some player's going to be very upset at how costly their Phantasmal Terrain is.
May I make a suggestion? Would it be terribly broken to say "Name a basic land type. All lands become the chosen type until end of turn."
Hmm. Nice consistent flavour - he's clearly an illusionist. Making three Wind Drakes over successive turns is pretty nice, but fine at this cost given Talrand's Invocation is one cheaper.
I keep wondering whether the ultimate ought to be achievable one turn sooner, or not.

change from Uncommon to Rare

But this is a very good card. No bones about it.
Changed ultimate from Hexproof & if go to graveyard return to hand

This does bypass both "Indestructible" and ":Regenerate" - which is definitely something red usually doesn't.

Turned the +1 into Enlightened Tutor for enchantments only at sorcery speed

Thought; you could sort of disable it with "When an illusion is targeted, regenerate it" but that's pretty wordy and horrible.
