See Challenge # 137. I tried to think of creature abilities which would combo with man-lands, and one was "getting counters", providing both a reminder that the land is animated, and a hoop to jump through to animate it.

You could do something similar, where it gains counters but they only "turn on" when you pay a mana cost to make it a creature (either to become a 1/1, or an expensive activation cost as an ultimate-type ability once you've mounted up several counters).

I think that's a pretty neat way to make a creature-land.

Oh, interesting. I like the idea quite a bit. I think I would have it turn on after a larger number of counters, though.

Oh yeah, that's a good idea.

Very nice. Looks pretty strong: a lot of things can let you gain life every turn, and having your guildgate turn automatically into an increasingly large creature for free does seem pretty good.
