I haven't figured out what gravity does yet. I want there to be a global affect, but I haven't decided what. Suggestions?

I don't know. The most flavorful thing would be for it to increase or decrease casting cost, but that raises too many balance issues. It could also limit lands somehow, but again, balance issues.
