Is the "When you spend" ability meant to apply to any time you pay those mana colours on any spell? Or just for this ability? It's pretty fiddly. It's also a bit vexing that the green ability stacks (you can use two copies of it productively), while the red ability... oh wow, it does actually stack, even though it looks like it shouldn't. Buh.
No, it's a reflexive trigger, so it only triggers when you spend the correct colored mana as part of the first half of the ability. I was trying a different approach to the Batwing Brume ability. The only way to stack it is to use something like Strionic Resonator
