It might be. It's certainly meant to be pretty good. Compare Freyalise, Llanowar's Fury, who can +2 to make Elvish Mystics.
Yeah, Mercy Killing is certainly a stretch in green, and is a bit odd in white. I remember at the time Maro described it as "a card that feels at home in green-white hybrid even though it would be odd as either a monowhite or a monogreen card".
Thanks. :-)
It would also suck for the caster if the other player had an anthem or Gavony Township effect.
Yeah, agree with both comments. I'll try to replace one of the bottom two abilities, and maybe just reduce the cost in the top one when I see how strong it looks. Maybe a - that puts a +1/+1 counter on a creature with defender and says it can attack as though it didn't have defender? A win condition would be useful for a defender deck.
I definitely like the flavour of this and Ishiki! And it makes cave tokens seem a lot more plausible as a mechanic than I'd thought before.
I'm concerned, is one land a turn too good?
Yeah, I like it. Potentially strong for a land, but clearly in line with those other cards.
ETA: And I like the flavour, a land that produces a snake is a good use for the "snake pit" concept.
Oh yes, I love the flavour of this for a blue "remove but in exchange for something else" card. It makes more sense than a lot of existing examples. And I quite like the trade-off of getting no power back, but a cloud of chump blockers potentially being a reasonable trade-off.
This is fun. I could see people playing it in EDH.
Hahaha. I love it. The fact that a goblin spelunker ends up destroying the caves he discovers is hilarious.
Created Ishiki, Akki Spelunker and Tsuchiko, Wurmrider using Cave.
Created for Challenge # 145 using Cave.
The Cave ability is mechanically simpler than Ishiki, Akki Spelunker's. I wanted some other line that would fit with the orochi; eventually I remembered that Kamigawa had Lifegift and Seed the Land, the latter even orochi-flavoured, so another landfall ability made some sense.
("Tsuchi" = Japanese for Earth. This one didn't have to have a Kamigawa flavour, but after I'd made Ishiki with a Kamigawa flavour I thought I'd be consistent.)
I knew this seemed familiar. I feel like Mercy Killing is a color pie bend/break, though.
Created for Challenge # 145 using Cave.
I wanted something that makes Cave tokens every turn. This is a little tricky though, because producing repeatable mana making is green, but the flavour of Caves is rather red. Here's one approach: make it more like temporary mana production, at least until someone sacrifices the Goblin.
("Ishi" = Japanese for "rock".)
Thank you. Given the garden I think it's in roughly the right power space.
I like it. Seems strong, but not always strictly better than Typhoid Rats. Interesting to compare with Khalni Garden.
Cool.
What's interesting is how similar this is to Mercy Killing.
See Challenge # 145.
I created Sublimate and Snake Pit.
New token: Shapeshifter.
See Snake and Challenge # 145.
I went through several different iterations on the trigger, my favorite of which was "whenever a creature an opponent controls attacks," but I felt there wasn't a satisfying cost for the power level.
I like it! With that +2 she'd be very hard to deal with, though. And I do wish her second two abilities were a bit more diverse, as Alex pointed out.
See Cloud and Challenge # 145. I almost made this multicolor, but blue gets Reality Shift, Pongify, and Curse of the Swine all on its own.
Niiice. Synergistic, flavourful, tells a story, suggests a deck while standing on her own as well. Good job.
Tiny niggles in that +2 seems quite a lot of loyalty gain on a 4-mana walker, and that the final two abilities are both removal, but overall this is very nice.
Elspeth, Protector of All using Wall
See Challenge # 145 using Wall
I thought about Wall for a while, but a planeswalker seemed the type of card that was most likely to make that as a token rather than a creature.
Oh, good point, thank you. OK, that'll do for now, although it's still a bit fiddly and wordy.
Added "When you cast ~ and"
"When you cast" seems like a reasonable enough thing to put on a mythic enchantment.
:)
And doh, of course. But ETB isn't very tidy either, is there any way of doing it better?

Kero, kero.
