Unselfconsciousness
I created (((Sinister Secrets))) after I got an awesome quote from Ben Franklin.
1). Go to http://www.quotationspage.com/random.php3
2). Look at the fifth entry.
3). Cut it, and paste it into the flavor text region of your card.
4). Design a card around it.
Bonus step 5). Repeat steps 1-4, but this time, create a card that 'answers' your first card in some way.
Flavor text is a tricky animal. While you may be tempted to make a very intricate card based around that card's flavor, you may want to be careful: The flavor text is already chunking up the card, and there may not be much space for text left.
Also, feel free to slice and dice the flavor text however you feel works. For example:
Just the knowledge that a good book is awaiting one at the end of a long day makes that day happier.
- Kathleen Norris
Can be pared down to:
"[The prospect of] a good book... makes that day happier"
-Kathleen Norris
Also, warping the message of the quote by cutting words out and not attributing the author seems fine to me as well. But please mention what the original quote was and who the author was in your comments thread. In this way, the previous example could also be...
A good book is awaiting one at the end of a long day.
I've got two ideas, so I'm set for the next challenge. I obviously won't take two in a row, though.
Edited wording.
Would "...blocking an attacking creature target opponent controls"? That works slightly differently, but may be clear??
Hm. I wonder if the rules mind having blocking creatures controlled by someone other than defending player. Probably not. In which case you could probably add "Cast ~ only if it's not your turn" and be sorted.
How's this wording?
Ugh, wait... I wanted you to be able to block for other people, but this way you can still block your own creatures...
Oh, it'd also be good for this to say "target creature [that's] attacking you", otherwise you get oddness with blocking things outside of combat, or blocking your own creatures, or suchlike.
Good question. Well, usually it won't matter, since they'll be dealing damage to each other, so it might as well say "by those creatures this turn" :)
Now it's making me think of alternatives; perhaps it should straight-up prevent damage to just your creature, or put the creature into play temporarily, and perhaps return it to your hand?
Not entirely clear whether "that creature" refers to the attacking creature (the target) or the creature you brought in from your hand. I can't see an easy way to disambiguate them either...
Nice. Works similarly to Debt of Loyalty, and the cost is pretty close as well.

FYI, the video game that these were taken from is called Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem, and if you haven't checked it out until now, you should. It is CRAZY good.
Love One-in-a-Million Chance, Alex!
Really??? Haven't seen that. Oh wait...smacks forehead. Editing.
EDIT: And it only took 5 tries!!!! Now to go back and redo everything else...
Question, if you click on formatting help above the comment box, it shows you how you can change your links into words so that you don't have a post full of addresses.
War Cry Neural Illusionist
Was half-asleep for that last one...will check it in the morning to see how good it is.
EDIT: Hey, not bad... needed an ETB condition, but otherwise surprisingly good. Would probably have a better flavor in blue, but I like this version better, so there.
EDIT (again): Now it is blue!
Ah...now we're getting to the challenges where it's really EASY for me to show off my stuff!!!
