For Challenge # 016. The ascended version of Zedruu the Greathearted, and drawing inspiration from her abilities. Even moreso than most cheap planeswalkers, the risk of getting her Shocked the turn you play her is quite significant, but the payoff is hefty if you get there.
Be sure to link Challenge # 016 from here, and link this from there. I nearly missed it otherwise.
I fear the +1 is a bit too strong. Even Forcemage Advocate has to give your opponents cards back in order to do that every turn; Dragon Blood will charge you
for it every turn. I think as a 3-mana planeswalker this would be very cool.
The +1 is actually deceptively strong. You've removed most of the drawback inherent in the planeswalker type. It can no longer be attacked, or burned except in your upkeep or draw steps. Admittedly the payoff isn't that great, but I think I'd have the +1 as something like "Target land phases out".
Hahahaha!
This is fun. On its own it functions like a Darksteel Reactor that can be attacked. (Hm, except it goes slowly exponential.) Against other planeswalkers it's obviously fantastic: immediately kill, or 1-turn-delay repeatable kill.
Mine is (((Llan Owar))) couldn't resist the name play.
I'm really not sure about the balance here, but it seemed interesting.
I hope we get a blue-green planeswalker like this someday. I think a lot of people would like it.
Hahaha. This is quite entertaining.
I'm not sure about the costs, but I like the idea as the attractive but most junior red planeswalker :)
In Gentlemen magicians I made some lands that used the planeswalker loyalty mechanic (http://multiverse.heroku.com/cardsets/5/cardlist for a cardlist, it's hard to search for those specifically because they don't have a separate subtype), the idea being they had the loyalty mechanic, but were not as mythic as planeswalkers. I didn't finish playtesting, so most require extensive revision, but I really liked how they played (several other people disagreed).
I think the difference here is that a 1-cost planeswalker should feel mythic and gamechanging and have an effect which is immediately relevant, but not be overpowered (or worse, "like Jace but worse"). Which I'm interested in too, I'll write something later this week.
I am amused :) It's almost certainly not quite balanced, but it's surprisingly close given the abilities :) If it was slightly harder to play it as "destroy target planeswalker" and it was easier to get the -10 ability (most of the first planeswalker ultimates were 'win the game' just not quite as directly :)) it would probably be surprisingly printable :)
(I like the other two, too.)
Aaaand a silly one to end the evening.
Also possibly could be mono-green - not sure. Probably needs to be mono-colour though.
Mine are: Algar the Bountiful, Malazar, the Ephemeral, Sakashima the Deceiver
