I have more cards, however I'm having a problem with the site right now.
See Challenge # 153.
Whoops. Looks like 9 ended up larger than the others for some reason. Probably won't effect the cards it's attached to, though.
Also, a couple more notes:
Number 2 is the front of a locomotive, making it some sort of robot centaur. I unfortunately had crop the lower half out to fit card dimensions. Do with that what you will.
Somehow, all 5 colors of mana should still be represented. Oddly, blue is the color that springs to mind for many of these (ala themes dealing with Thirst.) I could also see working on colorless design if that's where your muse goes. Just keep in mind that devoid cards, for the sake of just making them devoid, isn't particularly interesting. Finding a way to make the devoid cards matter is.
As per Challenge # 010, Challenge # 060, Challenge # 108, and Challenge # 141 we have another art design challenge. This time the theme is a post-apocalyptic dieselpunk environment, reminiscent of worlds like Mad Max, or the Fallout series, but with an intential Magic bent (or, if you prefer, like Dominaria during the Time Spiral setting, but with a bit more tech.)
Some light back story for this plane if you want to use it: The rogue plane of Madev was once a utopia, in which science and nature were fostered in harmony. While the plane knew its occasional share of troubles in the past, the well-balanced democracy and plentiful mana provided stability and one thousand years of peace.
All that changed when the plane was found by two rival factions of Planeswalkers. Though the seven planeswalkers that discovered Madev were sympathetic to its inhabitants, their idealogical differences would not allow them to share the wealth of mana this plane provided. The battle culminated in a trap which pinned three of the planeswalkers underground, in concert with a world-shaking explosion.
The winning planeswalkers thought they had achieved victory while preserving the plane, but they were mistaken. Even though the shockwaves of the explosion caused only acceptable losses to the plane's population, the sheer force of the impact tilted the plane, pulling it into a locked orbit with Madev's sun. Within 200 years, the sun would dry out most of the world's water, leaving behind the husk of a fallen great empire.

I liked the Kay Nielsen pic. I'll have to check out more of his work.
@Sorrow. Yup. Inspired by Metropolis. It's actually a picture of the Silver Surfer, cropped. Here's the full picture.

Also, 3, 10, and 16 come from Star Wars pre-production artwork. Number 6 is artwork associated with the more recent Great Gatsby movie. Also, number 9 comes from the book of fairy tales "East of the Sun and West of the Moon". I really could have used nothing but artwork from that book... not sure how I stayed my hand on that one. You can find more of those illustrations here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/East_of_the_Sun_and_West_of_the_Moon
Obv., I couldn't mention this while the challenge was ongoing. Telling people the source tends to corrupt the result.
Also reminds me, I got to do another Art challenge soon.

The first piece seemed very familiar. I've finally pinned it down, I think it's inspired by one of the posters for the film Metropolis.
When you cast Timely Turtle take an extra turn after this one.
If Timely Turtle would leave the battle, exile it instead.

Oh, yes. I guess it works well with Felidar Sovereign and Test of Endurance.
I like it. It turns "Lose x% of your life" into "You have x% chance of losing, right now" - and of course, repeating that does increase your risk; but there's always a chance you get away with it. (Unless they can one-shot you).
And vice versa; if someone is really hard to whittle down; or gaining life as quickly as you can hurt them or whatever; this gives you a way to beat it.
So yeah; I like it a lot. You'd really need to design around it; and it certainly wants to be rare given the head-scratching most players will have when they first see it; but I like it.
I just designed it! It's Johnny's job to break it :)
But ideas that crossed my mind: - lifegain decks, trade chance of winning for more life - play on opponent, use Strionic Resonator to double chance of loss - use with "can't lose the game" cards, which become "can't lose life" as well - find a "gain 1 life, lose 1 life" loop and turn it into a "opponent loses 100% certainty" loop
Honestly, I liked the idea, I don't know exactly how it would be used, that might well lead to it not being printed. I tried to balance it for "play on opponent, they lose earlier than they might otherwise might", but left open to more interesting uses.
I think this is the idea:
Which is interesting. I presume you're supposed to play this on opponents and attempt to one shot them. Seems like a good play if you don't think you can win, but are pretty sure you can deal two damage three times. But I'm having a hard time figuring out how you could make a deck with this in it profitably.
Maybe with a combo that can only deal 15 damage or so, but then you've used up all your resources? This would give you a 75% chance of winning, which may be enough to win most matchups. Outside of that, I don't got much.
Yes, yes. Whoops again. I'm a bit out of rhythm.
This is awesome. Not quite Sundial of the Infinite, but super cool. I want to build around it, but I don't even know where to start.
This is seems more like something that would help you by hosing your enemies. Still the concept is pretty neat but feels kind of undercosted, but that's maybe because I'd feel terrified seeing this thing hit the table in a draft.
This card seems kind of odd. So if I enchant myself at 12 life and I have a Lightning Bolt thrown at my face I choose a random number from 1-12, let's say 5 is the number that's randomly chosen. Wait, I'm lost. Did I lose the game.
