For Challenge # 033.
For Challenge # 033.
To start, I threw together Sudden Weasel. Feel free to use any elements of the card.
Oh, this is cute. I was hoping for a "big sticky tongue" card :)
Insect destruction feels more green than any other non-flying creature destruction, although I agree it's normal to avoid it. Making a black activation would definitely work. Alternatively, make this "fight target insect"? Most insects are little, so that's quite similar, although it's a lot more fiddly.
I love the flavor, but it seems really weird for green to have creature destruction not limited to flying. What if the activation was black?
So every mana that you spend during your normal turn is added to your pool as negative mana for your fossil turn? Interesting. Very hard to keep track of, and possible unworkable, but still interesting.
I like the idea of negative mana symbols. Although maybe 'splice onto spell with RR -- 0. No mana cost.' is as good?
Is the converted mana cost supposed to be 2 or -2?
Why wouldn't you use the fossil supertype and make this a fossil sorcery?
You replace each color with its opposite color, so it would be a green circle with a white fireball. See Wikipedia.
Update: I give up! I can't link to URLs that have parentheses in them. (Edit by Alex: Link fixed :) )
It It would have to have been spent during the fossil turn (like I mention in my comment on Challenge # 031 that previously spent mana would be horrible if combined with fossil turns.
I'm not familiar with a negative image though. A black circle with a red fireball in it?
So, you have to have spent
during your regular turn? Then this is free? Otherwise you can't cast it? (Those are all, in fact questions? These in the parentheses are not, because I control a Question Elemental?)
Style-wise, what if rather than negative mana, it used a negative image of the mana symbol?
I, for the life of me, can't figure out if this is broken, or trash. Negative Red Mana is melting my mind right now.
Going back to my fossil type I created in challenge 3 I made two more cards to go along with the fossil turn.
Climate Shift Monstrous Skull. The -
was an idea I actually want to implement on a plane I hope to use in the future. Since that plane had a prehistoric theme I popped it onto this card to just show it (I think it'd be a failure if actually combined with fossil turns).
Hahaha!
For Challenge # 003. Kinda wacky and cool.
Oh, and this is really hard to kill, as it's not on the battlefield at the same time as the lands people need to tap for their removal spells. I suppose Rift Bolt would do it...
Oh, this is for Challenge # 003? I assumed it was for Challenge # 031! :)
Now it is truly EVIL in a good way for you and a BAD way for every other player.
I figured everyone getting the same number of frogs was splosion enough.
Well, it does include untap and draw, but untap won't do anything unless you have fossil lands. Draw still counts, but I'm not clear whether opponents get fossil turns once this is out even if they don't have fossil stuff themselves. So the fossil turns kinda collapse out very quickly, and this card works out just like Kami of the Crescent Moon, plus them losing three life every turn. Which sounds pretty powerful, but I suppose that's assuming nobody else has any fossil cards.
