Woo. That's certainly a difficult one to convert into a mythic, especially since Tarmogoyf was printed at mythic in Modern Masters. The second ability is certainly interesting. Got too many sorceries in the graveyard but no instants? Find some!
Scary 1-drop. My Proclamation of Rebirth deck needs more of those to actually be a deck.
Patrik, if you click "Formatting help" directly above the comment box, there are instructions on how to do that and several other things.

See Challenge # 085. Tarmogoyf
Multiverse Design Challenge # 086. Midvinterblot is kind of the viking christmas, so i figured a card that gave gifts and like the vikings are they take them back :D
Silly me, this is mythic. So it should be 88/88, and certainly shouldn't die to simple removal. Add shroud.
Yeah, I couldn't think of anything non-boring, but that's a reasonably good idea.
Ah! This is why we need n-dashes. I assumed it meant "a card other than a mythic or a basic land" (if I meant "make a mythic of a land card" I probably wouldn't phrase it like that). "non-basic-land" (or for preference "non–basic-land") would be correct, but most people don't bother except in formal writing.
Yavimaya Hollow brought me to Yavimaya And, uh - I was reading the challenge as +(non-mythic) +(non-basic) +(land); and searched accorindlgy; but it seems no-one else did.
See Challenge # 085.
Non-mythic, non-basic, land. Yavimaya Hollow. Huh; legendary; but non basic.
Creature regen; and the other Yavimaya cards paint it as some kind of rain forest. Lots of green. (And the other colours seem to be referencing the borders of this land.)
The lore says, basically, Gaia hypotheses; rainforest as a single mind.
So, iconically... One seriously bigass treefolk? Hard to awaken, but "Oh crap, the country is trying to smack me" once awake?
In fact - to do that; let's use new-tech (that's not so new to fan-sets; but hey, we can trigger off devotion rather than anything else) from Thereos.
Now, what should it BE when awake? Forest empowering, and huge. "I like big and stompy" deserves mythics too.
And as we can easily evoke Force of Nature here; let's do so.
Hmm. A mythic Llanowar Elves. How about an
creature like Mikaeus, the Lunarch who taps for X green mana? Is that in the right mythic spot on the boring-to-broken spectrum?
I'm back on this challenge again. What can I say; it's fun. My random rolls have been oversupplied with black cards though, so I rerolled my first two randoms which were black.
I rolled Terramorphic Expanse and created Terramorphic Nexus. Then I rolled Elvish Hexhunter and created Safehold Sanctifier.
See Challenge # 085. This time I rolled Elvish Hexhunter. Given that green and white can destroy many things other than just enchantments (see Elvish Scrapper, or Mangara of Corondor) I decided to amp this one up for mythic.
I found it hard to choose between two approaches - effectively the Selesnya Guildmage vs Vitu-Ghazi Guildmage approaches. Do I have the two abilities costing
and

,
and

, or
and

? It could be interesting each way.
There's the version which casts Naturalize/Disenchant or Purify:
>
,
, Sacrifice ~: Destroy target artifact or enchantment.
,
, Sacrifice ~: Destroy all artifacts and enchantments.
>
But that doesn't feel mythic enough.
The version which can cast either Bramblecrush or a Mangara of Corondor-plus-To Arms:
>
,
, Sacrifice ~: Destroy target noncreature permanent.

,
, Exile ~: Exile two target permanents.
>
It's an interesting approach, but I think I'd rather keep things balanced.
So I went for this version. The P/T are pretty aggressive, like Dryad Militant, but this is a mythic whose text box is possibly more suited to a rare, so I wanted to increase the eyebrow-raising-ness.
I tried this challenge and got Llanowar Elves, which was helpfully iconic, but I wasn't sure I could make it mythic except by reprinting Lotus Cobra :)
You could just delete "basic" or "tapped" from Terramorphic Expanse. That would be mythic, albeit completely broken :)
Having another go at Challenge # 085, I randomed up... Terramorphic Expanse. The budget staple mana fixer. How on earth do you make a mythic Terramorphic Expanse?
It's hard enough to make a mythic land at all - Eye of Ugin was rather dubious. I've tried before, with Summit of the Wyrm.
But Terramorphic Expanse is all about fixing your colours. How can you make that mythic? "Mythic" and "manafixer" just don't go together. Well, except perhaps for Lotus Cobra. That was mythic because of the potential for explosive starts. But "potential for explosive starts" is a hair's breadth away from "broken".
I'm not sure if this works. On turn 1, it invites you to set back your mana development for acceleration; like Remote Farm but much more so. On turn 6, it fixes the colours of all your other lands first. And also more subtly helps you strip all the basics out of your deck.
Added Ulfberht.
For Challenge # 086. If the Dwarves make superior weapons, then there should be some Dwarf weapons that feel 'superior' in some way. Ulfberhts are very sharp viking swords made from high quality steel.
Yeah, just 'Dwarves are Smiths, and their weapons are some of the finest ever made'. I know that's a common trope, but it's a common trope because of Norse culture. Dwarves in other cultures are known for their trickery, and baby stealing, like the way we think of most fairies. I agree, though, this card certainly doesn't sell a set.
I couldn't resist making Christmas Goat, but I put it in cards with no home, as it's indisuptably scandanavian, but wouldn't fit into a norse set :)
