Hmmm. I'm almost tempted to suggest "Just print lots of creatures with intimidate; golds can block those well" - but that's not quite enough. Anti-devotion? But that really encourages splash instead of true dual. Will have to have a think.
Ooh, cool idea.
Are we looking for any synergistic mechanic that could appear on two colours (eg. evolve is appropriate-ish in G and U, so supports building a deck in those colours with lots of 6/1s), or something that specifically benefits from two-colour play?
Hm. My first thought was, all the bits have been uncommon before, it seems costed fairly, it's a nice card, what's the problem?
But now I'm not sure. All the comparison cards listed have a hoop to jump through to get the 2-for-1. This is like volcanic dragon and flametongue kavu. Yes, it's like flametongue kavu... but better. Is that ok for uncommon? Is there a set of cards which are not broken, but aren't splashy enough for rare, but are too good for uncommon in limited? I'm genuinely not sure.
This seems okay to me. It's like a Flametongue Kavu. Or indeed Morkrut Banshee. This is obviously a Limited bomb, but it'd seem pretty lackluster as a rare to me. Note that Volcanic Dragon was uncommon when it was reprinted.
Decree of Justice also gives you a card, though.
I wouldn't worry too much about the card's CMC for Limited as much as the fact that it's easily splashable.
I kept the power down, mostly because I didn't want creature + stiletto to kill too many creatures. Can't have fun swapping if everything dies. In theory, lifelink would be appropriate... but probably not for Tibalt.
Did drop to
, though. The card gets a bit good with a Prodigal Pyromancer, but unnataching probably means it isn't that crazy.
Current R+D standard is to make no uncommons better than Mahamoti Djinn. Is this better than the Djinn? I don't know. Maybe? I'd be willing to test it.
Okay as a powerful rare, but it seems way too good for uncommon even with an extra mana over stuff like Voracious Dragon or Thundercloud Shaman.
Not sure if this is too good :D i see

rares like Serra Angel and this adds 4 damage for
more mana. Maybe it's okey after all.
Flametongue Dragon. Seems pretty good. The connection to Nicol Bolas is pretty tenuous, but that's probably okay given some of the cards with other planeswalkers in the name.
Awesome
You know, it does sort of make sense for Tibaly to wear high heels.
Nice effect. Reminds me of Scythe of the Wretched. I think the cost could be lower, and the bonus could be a bit more. I like the idea that it doesn't give any toughness boost though, so maybe
for a +2/+0 with Equip
or
.
Sorry I'm late to the party. ;)
Added Tibalt Trickery, Tibalt's Twist and Tibalt's Stiletto.
For Challenge # 087. Unlike Tibalt Trickery and Tibalt's Twist, the Stiletto isn't supposed to really work with Tibalt's ultimate. I just thought of this card while working with the idea of his ultimate (and the fact that Tibalt holds a knife in his card art), thought it was a cool trick, and couldn't resist. I'm not sure what the cost of this equipment is... it obviously suffers from "Oh. I don't block, then" syndrome. It does do a good job of defending Tibalt, while you level him up, though, so maybe 5 is fine?
For Challenge # 087. Twist is supposed to both enable Tibalt Trickery and play well with Tibalt, the Fiend-Blooded's -4. This took a little while to get here... I went through:
before I got here. Kind of a spiteful mini-Memory Jar. I was also kind of concerned about what people would think happened if this card was shuffled back into the library from the graveyard before the end of turn. Does it still deal damage? So I made the discarded cards deal damage instead, which I think is kind of funny.
For Challenge # 087. Tibalt, the Fiend-Blooded doesn't get enough love. It's tough being a 2-cost planeswalker.
I thought about sneaking this ability onto an absurdly costed creature... but I just prefer the enigma of not being able to cost this sucker. I know... the card would probably never be printed at common... but I maintain hope it can, since it's so simple, and even if someone thought they could cast this for
, their opponent would probably just tell them they didn't discard it, so they don't get the effect.
I tried to make sure my three spells could go in a Tibalt deck. This ability is meant to match his +1... though, I'd expect the block this is in should feature a lot more discard, as well.
Well, given that, at the time Goblin Offensive was first printed, Shivan Dragon was considered above the curve, yeah, this looks about right.
Oh yes, I was thinking Elspeth should have an equipment.
It should give -0/-2 and the Flagbearer ability.
