A museum made the original, not Vitenka.
Added Vindicated Path #3, because I, too, can't leave well enough alone. :)
Yay! I like Challenge # 099 and have no problem with it making a comeback.
Vindicated Path #3 is based on Vitenka's Vindicated Path, which probably sounded cool to him, but is a really weird concept when you really think about it. A road without blame? Well, okay, this is a road without blame. It taps for colorless, so no one can be upset by it, and no one, therefore, doesn't have a reason for targeting it, since that would be kind of evil. Pointing spells at such an innocent land wouldn't be nice. We don't do that here.
Of course, if you want to, for example, turn the land into a creature, then it wouldn't be so innocent anymore. Pity, though. The road has a reputation, and people just can't bear to target it either way.
If you can find a way to activate abilities that are relevant without casting spells, than the ability might begin to bear fruit later in the game. But I got to admit that it's hard to imagine there being enough cards with channel in the world for this to work. It's very good at teasing players, yes. And there's always the "I didn't really have a good turn two anyway.", though, I don't think that makes a good selling point, no.
Pretty horrible, I think; this goes 0, 0, 0, 1, 2, 4, 6, 9, 12 power at best. So it doesn't even overtake a goldfish until turn eight.
I can't decide if this is utterly horrible or any good at all.
Thanks. That was the idea. :)
Are there any more submissions for this? I'm going to go ahead with challenge # 101 in a couple of days. FWIW, I really enjoyed this challenge, but I found it hard to actually do well.
I created Regenesis # 4, which amuseum turned into Vindicated Path, which inspired Vindicated Path #2.
Oh, very nice. Path to Exile meets Ghost Quarter in a very elegant way.
I groaned when I saw the name. Then I noticed that I created this card a year ago and forgot about it. Yeah... looks like a card that didn't end up in Boney Control, indeed.
I should do another one of those. Was quite a bit of work, though. And it would have to be a very different type of 'broken deck'. Hmm.
Link: We've got the Sea Crest cycle, which probably means we don't want quite the same thing on a land cycle as well.
I think that ruling only exists so that Elemental Resonance will work. I really don't think hybrid symbols are meant to represent something you can add to your pool.
Being better than a normal land :)
Anyway, I'm told it works - you just have to resolve it as either
or
when you add it, which is natural anyway.
Oh. Unfortunately, hybrid mana can only be used as a cost. It's not something you can add to your mana pool.
also makes them disturbingly weak lands. What abuses are you talking about?
Removing the option to tap for
Character, Symbol.
Specifically, I'd want full-card art, with just the one line of text at the bottom:

:

(I guess the punctuation raises it to 5 though)
Not having the option to tap for
pretty much removes the worst abuses of not ETBing tapped.
What's a glyph?
Yes! They can finally be reprinted with only four glyphs!
Are we going to have a cycle of lands that do this in the Community Set? It would be a good fit. The best fit might be the Graven Cairns cycle, to benefit both monocolor and multicolor, though.
Just turned this up when searching for the simplest form of the "
,
: Add
" land. It's curiously untraceable - doesn't seem to be mentioned anywhere else on the site.
I think this was created for Challenge # 037, but jmg didn't end up using it.
Something that I didn't notice about my own scheme the first time: You can choose a player, then kill them on your turn. Whoops...
Interesting. I wouldn't expect an Archenemy scheme with such a drawback.
(Sorry. It was such a good choice, though, that I couldn't stop my head from designing around it.)
Added My, What Interesting Toys You Have for Archenemy. I suppose that means I need to add
