Heh, it's Incoming! again, like on my Omnipotence Charm. As I said there, it's Primal Surge without the deckbuilding constraint. This should at least be green - the challenge doesn't say everything has to be colourless!
I think this is a bit too excessively "win the game right now". But things like Enter the Infinite exist, so there probably is a space for some cards like this.
Hmm. "Draw" 13 cards per turn, but you can only play the ones you can afford. Certainly needs to cost more than Colfenor's Plans, but I think
is excessive. I'd say this is somewhat comparable to Damia, Sage of Stone, and
-
would probably do.
Lightsteel Colossus
Suggest making it a non-optional "All" :)
Woo, Timmy Time! Bolas, Triumphant and Mass Stampede.
Oh, true. And, come to think of it, if it's a tap effect, it has to be written that way to avoid taking all twelve turns in a row. But maybe 3 extra turns is too good for commander, and no extra turns is not good enough in a duel?
It's fine. It will most commonly be used in group games of Commander, where a player will end up taking 3 or 4 turns before their 'normal' turn begins. That more than makes up for the extra cost.
Yeah, very nice! I don't know about the cost, but it must be about right. It's about as splashy an effect as you could hope for, but doesn't quite win the game outright.
I wonder if there's any way of keeping the 12 theme without the counters (since if you haven't won in ANOTHER 12 turns, it's unlikely to matter)?
In fact, maybe this needs to give you another turn immediately after this one, else you're likely to lose before you can use it? As it is, it may be worse than Time Stretch which is a bit of a shame.
I made Shifting Calendar and forgot to link it here. I also made End of Days. I can't say I'm that pleased with either of them, really. I'll be coming back to this challenge.
I wasn't sure whether it was really worth 12 mana or not, but maybe it is.
Ah, heh, that means that Omnipotence Charm is disqualified :P Nice challenge. I'll see what I can come up with.
Hee. That's excellent, yes. The 12 is very thematic here.
Two turns for every turn an opponent takes. Yes, I'm pretty sure that deserves a 12+.
I figured we'd go with something simple for 102... but I'm not one for making things easy, either. 12+ casting cost can be very tricky to design for, because, by all rights, the game should be over by the time you drop something this large on the table. Your job is to try to find the sweet spot that Elderazi took up: Monumental, but not unfair.
Later on, Ash Zealot came out and proved that it's fine for there to be a 2/2 haste for
. Good call, Jack :)
Mmm. "Search for a card" isn't allowed to "fail to find", but "search for cards with different names" is.
From the name I thought this was going to go "You choose a card that doesn't have one of those names and put it into your hand". But this way works too.
Can't Always Get What You Want
For Challenge # 101. Reveal your library, indeed. I was forced to use that wording, since "Target opponent searches your library" was bound to result in a 'fail to find'. Obvious flavor of "But if you try sometimes, you just might find, you get what you need." was too obvious. Didn't really know how to boil that down enough to allude to it, without pointing right at it. Ah well.
Hee! Delightful. "Storm" for "raining" is excellent.
