Added Heart of the Soil, Mind of the Spray, Claws of the Brush, Sweep of the Overhang and Lungs of the Canopy. I really wanted to figure out a way to remove the mana ability from a land altogether, in a way that 'all lands must have a mana ability purists' would at least begrudgingly accept. Came up with a few, but nothing to bank a cycle on. So, you know, sliver-ish man lands. I suppose we could just do those.
Funny thing, thinking about these more. If it wasn't illegal, I'd play a 60 card deck featuring nothing but these Outposts. Or, at least a 60 card deck of the Green and White ones.
Oh, this is instant speed. And I guess the General's Outpost could always be a surprise blocker. Hm. Now that I think of it, I wonder why more lands don't do stuff at sorcery speed. "I accidentally walked my guy into a man-land" is a very annoying way to lose a tournament. Ah well, I guess you have Magic's history on your side, Link.
It's a tricky little ability, because I could see people forgetting that it's there. Then out of the blue, play a land, and tap my three Assassin's Outposts to -3/-3 to the creature you just played.
Archer's Outpost has that problem, too, but at least the ability is effecting life totals, and not the state of the board. Sucks to lose to a land out of nowhere, but it seems more forgivable to me for some reason.
Hmm... maybe deathtouch at sorcery speed? You probably have better ideas in your head than I have in mine, Link.
Oh, heh. I just assumed the card was better. Silly me, and silly Homelands. Well, we know what ability she's getting in Homelands Restored, eh?
Whoa. That's a very painful effect. It won't always kill something, but a lot of the time it will, and it could lead to players manascrewing themselves by holding back lands until you tap out. I fear
is very cheap for this effect, even as a colour-specific hoser.
For an example, I created General's Outpost, Observer's Outpost, Assassin's Outpost, Archer's Outpost, and Shaman's Outpost.
I was about to comment that all of the abilities except this one would work better in
color pairs, but it looks like you beat me to it. :)
oops! yes!
This feels like the wrong combination of colors. I could see the effect being
.
Is this mean to say "Without paying its mana cost?" Because if not, it's just worse than Alchemist's Refuge. Right?
