I believe it forces a thoughtful decision on the part of the player, especially if there's a board wipe. I wouldn't want to be in a game where a player decides "I'll find a 4-drop" then while they're searching their library realize "maybe I want to get a 6-drop instead". Also even if it's not a board wipe, seeing several creatures die over the course of a turn, maybe they would like a 6-drop but only a 4-drop has died so far. Wait it out, or get the effect when you can? I think there's a lot of nuance to having it be once-per-turn.

For style and simplicity, I'd probably replace the "X is power" with just a plain 2. It's technically less good, but not often. And this way it's all the two's.
I'd also consider making this a jabberwock. Kill it? You softly fade away :)
